Many scholars are apt to consider that this disease is caused by lowlihead immunity of economy cell. There are also consider that the happen of the disease has osculation relation to the immune complex. About the treatment to this disease, modern medicine mostly uses sulfasalazine(SASP),hormone,immunosuppressant, etc. But the curative effect is not good. And the time of taking medicine is long, the recurrence rate is high and the side effect is big. TCM focus on conception of holism in knowing and diagnosis-therapy the disease. TCM understand the disease by the thinking manner of treatment based on syndrome differentiation. And there are many treatment methods in TCM. So TCM show the predominance in curing UC. At present the research of curing the UC by taking Chinese medicinal herbs orally is still locate at the stage of clinical investigation.
