Clinical Research On Angina Pectoris Treated By Removing The Phlegm And Blood Stasis Therapy.

Coronary Heart Disease(CAD) is a common heart disease, caused by the narrowed or clogged coronary arteries which could not supply enough oxygen or blood to the heart. Modern medicine has made great progress about the pathogenic mechanism . CAD could be ascribed as "angina and obstruction of qi in the chest" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and "deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality" is the TCM pathogenic mechanism. The origin factors are internal organs deficiency, including yang deficiency , ying deficiency , qi deficiency , yang exhausted, of all factors , deficiency of heart-energy is the main one;the superficial factors are Phlegm, blood stasis, purplish clots , qi stasis and blood stasis is the main of all. The pathogenic products tend to mix together, for example, Phlegm mixing blood stasis is a most important and usual one, which has been paid more attention in TCM research field in recent years and certain fruit was harvested. In order to examine the effect and safety of removing the phlegm and blood stasis to treat angina, which may provide a further basement for future study, a randomized controlled trail has been performed. We observe the change of Chinese and Western symptoms after taking the Chinese medicine in tested group and controlled group1. Objective1. 1 To discuss the effect and safety of removing the phlegm and blood stasis to treat angina1. 2 To discuss the affect of the therapy on CAD-related indices2. MethodTo select 130 patients who met the diagnosis conditions , separating them randomly, 70 take Wendan Tang + Red Sage Decoction as tested group;Red Sage Decoction for the rest as controlled group,period of treatment is 3 weeks . Observing the change of Chinese and Western symptoms and ECG (electrocardiograms) , reexamine BRT (blood regular test) URT (urine regular test) .. electrolyte, blood fat , Fg (Plasma Fibrinogen quantitation), CRP (C-reaction protein) , evaluating them by the criterions made in China recent years, removing the phlegm and blood stasis.3. ResultTC> LDL-C, TG > HDL-C are of significant change in both groups after the therapy (P<0.05) . Blood Cholesterol got better results in tested group than in controlled group (P<0. 05) .which means removing the phlegm and blood stasis works better on lowing blood cholesterol than only removing blood stasis does , as was said before. CRP and Fg show remarkable change comparing with itself after taking medicine , but not with each other, which may be ascribed to observe time and test sample, we should make further study to prove it. The 2 groups also show self but not mutual significant difference in the improvement of angina symptom, electrocardiograms (ECG) , dose of nitroglycerin and syndrome remark , which may be caused by insufficiency of observing time. A prolonged trail may be better.4. Cone I us i on4.1 removing the phlegm and blood stasis and promoting blood circulation to dispel blood stasis both take effect on CAD , no significant difference between each other , both are safe.4.2 removing the phlegm and blood stasis works better on lowing blood cholesterol than only removing blood stasis does, both can suppress inflammation factor, but show no significant difference between each other.4.3 The effect of combination of Chinese and Western medicine is better than only using one on either the improving of symptom or ECG.
