I. Experimental Studies of Immature Myocardial Protection 1. A Comparison Study of Two Different Isolated, Working Immature Rabbit Heart Models in Crystalloid-Perfused versus Blood-PerfusedObjective: the purpose of this study is to investigate which working heart modelis more suitable for the experimental research of the functional effects in the immature rabbit hearts. Methods: on modified working heart apparatus, 20 isolated hearts of 14-21 daysimmature rabbit were divided in two groups randomly: blood-perfused and crystalloid-perfused hearts. After the hearts were stable, they were maintained at the working heart models for 120 minutes. The myocardial function were recorded at the different time by the percentage recovery of aorta flow (AF), coronary flow (CF), cardiac output (CO), left ventricle stroke work (LVSW), heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), ±dp/dtmax The myocardial contractility and compliance were assessed with the functional effects under the different preload. The mycardial water content was also calculated. Meantime, the myocardial structure was analysised with light and electron microscope. Results: There were no changes in the myocardial contractility and compliance inthe blood-perfused hearts. And it was also the same with the crystalloid-perfused hearts before 60 minutes. But after that, the myocardial function was generally lowered and significantly done at the 120 minutes point. It was easy to keep the components of the crystalloid perfusion media stable and controlled. There were no...
