The Literatural Study On The Regularity Of The Four Herbal Property Of Commonly Used Chinese Herbs

Objective: To systematize the records of four herbal property of commonly used Chinese herbs in clinical practice in ancient herbal classics and literatures, to seek the regularity in the changes of herbal property and explore the potential reasons of these changes of different dynasties, to perfect the theory of medicine theory of four herbal property and to supply references for theoretical research and clinical prescription. Methods: Connecting the TCM literatural approaches and statistical methods, databases of four herbal property of commonly used Chinese herbs are established to analyze the rule of these changes. Result: The change of the four herbal property have certain regularity. The proportion of the herbal property"moderate"grows and the proportion of the"cold"reduces. Conclusion: The theory of four herbal property is an essential attribute of chinese herbs, and potential reasons of the changes of the four herbal property can be summed up to two aspects: the one is the changes of the herbs themselves, which mean the nature of those herbs have changed, another is the basic theories of TCM and herbal property, consequently the four herbal property changed.
