A Study Of Mongolian Language

The present dissertation entitled The Research on Mongoljin Sub dialect is an academic work in which the Mongoljin sub dialect is systematically researched. Previous research on the sub dialect was done by some scholars by the names of "Mongoljin dialect" and "Tumet dialect" although their research works were not completed in a very systematic way. Therefore, the present author chooses the sub dialect as the object of study and conducts descriptive research to the sub dialect on the basis of fieldworks completed in the Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County, Liaoning Province.This dissertation consists of the following five parts.In the Introduction, contents related to Mongoljin’s origins, history, the present situations as well as famous people from Mongoljin tribe and their contributions to the Mongolian history are introduced firstly. After that, the purpose and significances of selecting the topic, some innovational points of view concerning, the sources of the data, history of research, and research methods are explained briefly.In the first chapter, the present author describes the phonetic system of the Mongoljin sub dialect applying the method of experimental phonetics. Meanwhile, some unique characteristics and regular phenomenon of the development in the phonetic system are explored.In the second chapter, the morphological system of the Mongoljin sub dialect is described in its entirety. More specifically, the morphological features are analyzed systematically to reveal the peculiarities different from other Mongolian dialects and sub dialect within all parts of speech.In the third chapter, the syntax of Mongoljin sub dialect is analyzed briefly at the levels of phrase and sentence.The fourth chapter is a lexicological research part of the Mongoljin sub dialect. An outline of vocabulary components, some structural and semantic characteristics known from the sub dialect are researched in detail and some proper nouns are analyzed as a special subject in this chapter.Finally, the results of the research are summarized in the conclusion part of the dissertation.The attachment includes two parts of discourse material.
