The key issue of the North-South relations in Korean Peninsula is the problem of reunification, and the discussion on the interactive relations of the North-South reunification is very important to deeply understand the North-South relations and the problem of Korean Peninsula. This dissertation intends to construct the systematic research method for the interactions of the North-South reunification, and according to this systematic research method, on the basis of the tentative idea of interactions of the North-South reunification, to construct a simple interactive system of reunification. Through the analyses of the interactive relations of the North-South reunification, systematically structural environment and the important environments for system, this dissertation discusses the regularity and systematization of the interactions of the North-South reunification.According to the different stages of interactions of the North-South reunification, this dissertation divides the interactive relations of the North-South reunification into three historical stages: “during the Cold War”, “during the deconstruction of the Cold War” and “since the new century”.During the Cold War(1948-1988), the interactions of the North-South reunification displayed three different characteristics: first, from “uniting by force” to “uniting by peace”; second, from “single form of government” to “coexistence of regimes”; third, from “internationalization” to “autonomy of state or nation”. The interactions of the North-South reunification during this period had a powerful impact on the system: first, the interactive security in the stable structure; second, setting up several principles for the reunification; third, the duration of political democratization in ROK in the issue of leading the reunification had converted from the struggle for consensus to the struggle for power; fifth, the national autonomy of the reunification was enhanced. During this period, the problem of structural security gave rise to the discussion on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and had produced important and continued effects.During the deconstruction of the Cold War(1988-1998), the systematic characteristics and results of the interactions of the North-South reunification were as follows: first, the ROK had gradually transformed from the stress on its advantage of institution to the support of the coexistence of two institutions, and stressed its advantage of institution after the disintegration of the USSR; second, the autonomy of the state or nation in the reunification continued to be strengthened; third, the idea of “uniting by peace” continued to be enhanced, however, the idea of “uniting by peace” in ROK also included “peaceful evolution.”Since the new century(1998-2014) kicked off, the reunification of North and South Korea has experienced three stages, namely, construction, deconstruction and reconstruction of peace and trust. The reunification process in this period displays three characteristics. First, the interaction between North Korea and the U.S. is more frequented around the North Korea nuclear issue, deepening mutual contradictions. Second, the alliance of South Korea and the U.S. is strengthened again after it was weakened. Meanwhile, South Korea-U.S.-Japan alliance and the internal relations are undergoing the similar change. Third, the structural contradictions between North Korea and the U.S. on nuclear issues prompt the South Korean construction of TMD, generating profound interactions with China and Russia that serve as the significant environment. This period witnessed really severe systemic consequences. On the one hand, North Korea is more assured to strive for national survival and development via nuclear weapons; on the other, South Korea is positively considering disposing “THAAD” missile defense system to face up to nuclear threat from North Korea.
