A Study On The Image Of The Communist Party Of China

The paper is about the theory and countermeasure research of the history, reality for Chinese communist party’s governing image. With constantly strengthening the party’s own construction, improving its power performance, optimizing its power system and mechanism, enhancing the party’s ability of political socialization in the historical process of revolution, construction and reform, the theme of the study is about the party’s establishing, maintaining and consolidating the good administration image within people’s heart.With sticking to the governing image of the communist party of China, and adhering to the train of thought of the combination between theory and practice, history and reality to sum up experience and combine theory, the paper discusses the issue of the Chinese communist party’s image. After analyzing the basic theory, the paper then carries out research as the idea of “to ask, analyze and solve problems”.This dissertation contains three parts which are introduction, text(four chapters) and epilogue.The introduction mainly explains the subjects requiring research of proposition, significance, review, thought and methods, and also the difficulties, innovation and limits in research.The first chapter, the logical starting point of the paper, is an analytical part on theory. According to the thinking logic of “What” and “Why”, the paper mainly answers the following questions. Firstly, the party’s power is the logic premise of the governing image. As analyzing the internal logic and stipulation in party’s power under the condition of modern polity, the paper argues that the party’s governance has its own intrinsic stipulation in society- state- party analytical framework, which is utilized to win the social support, to realize the effective governance, to promote social progress and to solve the problem on governing legitimacy and effectiveness. Secondly, the principle for the party’s governing image is analyzed. After interpreting the connotation, denotation and constituent elements of the “image”, “party’s image”, and “party’s governing image”, and “communist party’s governing image in China” in the theoretical analysis, the author believes that the communist party’s image in China is the holistic evaluation and understanding for the party relatively stable and formed in people about the communist party’s own construction, the governance practices and performance, the governing system and mechanism, when the party controls and uses the state power, leads and supports people as masters in the country. In all, the communist party’s image is the important governing resources and soft power, an emotional reaction internalized in people’s minds for the party, and the external performance for the party’s nature and aim. The essence of Chinese communist party’s image is the external performance, specification and realization of the fundamental purpose of serving the people’s heart and soul in power. The paper argues that the influential elements of the party’s governing image mainly include the party’s own construction, the governing performance, the governing system and mechanism, and the party’s political socialization.The second chapter is about historical analysis. Dividing into three big periods, this part historically investigates and clarifies the party’s image. The time of the local administration before the founding of new China is the startup period of the image of the party’s governing. From the founding when party began to administrate comprehensively to the reform and opening in 1978, the party’s governing image underwent a tortuous development time. The party’s governing image in country and society is mainly explored during the process of difficult transformation assumed from revolutionary to governing concept, and economic and social development having experienced serious restriction and the construction of national system, such as democracy and legal system, having faced severe damage. Since reform and opening up, the party’s governing image experienced repairing and remodeling process, what are mainly examined is how to transform successfully from the “revolutionary” to “governing” in order to build a learning, service-oriented, and innovative party and to form an image of scientific, democratic, and legal governing, when the party adheres to emancipating the minds, seeking truth from facts, keeping pace with the times, seeking reality and being pragmatic, persisting in the “people-oriented”, and making efforts to search for the laws of the communist party’s governing, the socialist construction and the development of human society.The third chapter is about how to analyze the problem. The view is put into the contemporary China. In the new situation, with explaining the anatomy of the party’s historical position, self-construction, governing performance, the governing systems and mechanisms, and the condition of political socialization, the real challenges the party’s image currently is facing will be explored.The fourth chapter is to put forth some countermeasures. Around the connotation of elements of the party’s governing image,four suggestions will be put forward under the new historical position to consolidate the party’s governing image. The first the "fundamental guarantee" to shape a good image is to strengthen the governing body’s construction. The second as the "main criterion" is to strengthen the construction of governing performance. The third as the “basic dependence” is to build a benign and interactive relationship between the party and the masses. The forth which is a "vital way" to shape a good image is to respect the rule of political communication.The conclusion gives us a full summary for the text and proposes prospects for further researches.
