Since the11th Five-Year Plan, in order to greatly improve the ability of railway transportation, relieve the contradiction of the strain on China’s transport capacity, our country accelerates the pace of high-speed railway construction. According to the "medium and long-term railway network planning (adjustment in2008)", by2020, more than120000km railway mileage will reach in our country and there are16000km high-speed railway among that. Through ten years of development, China has the world largest and highest operation speed of high-speed railway network. But the increase and maintain high-speed railway’s sustainable competitive advantage in transportation market, and coordinated development with other modes of transportation, are the important issues that the current theoretical cycle and railway departments focus on, and also are the key issue that affect the sustainable development of high-speed railway. This thesis researches on the sustainable competitive advantage of high speed railway based on this.Firstly on the analysis of relevant research results of high-speed railway from home and abroad, this article analyzes the theory of competitiveness, sustainable development theory, the essential theoretical foundation of the sustainable development of competitive advantage of high speed railway and explores the connotation of the sustainable competitive advantage of high speed railway, classification and the form.Secondly, based on the analysis of the development experience that foreign countries foster high speed railway sustainable competitive advantage, from the factors that influence the total scale of passenger transport demand, the factors that influence the demand scale of high speed railway, and the factors that influence the demand scale of net immigration of high speed railway, this thesis analyzes the factors that influence the high-speed railway sustainable competitive advantage. And from the perspective of passenger travel mode choice, analyzes the share rate of high speed railway and other transportation ways, On the basis of the analysis of the demand and supply factors on passenger transport channel, it determines the measure of the share rate model (Logit model), and sets the related parameters and quantitative methods. On this basis, take the Beijing-Shanghai passenger corridor as an example, this thesis calculates the actual data, and calculates concretely through putting the data into the Logit model. The calculation results showed that the share rate of Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway passenger corridor is bigger, and the advantage of the Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway is mainly manifested in transportation market of the medial and short distance. In addition, from the function advantage of high speed railway traffic, high speed railway sustainable development advantage and the positive external advantages of high-speed railway, this thesis establishes the high speed railway sustainable competitive advantage evaluation index system and establishes the high-speed railway comprehensive evaluation model of sustainable competitive advantage. From the empirical evaluation results, the high-speed railway sustainable competitive advantage is stronger than the air transportation and highway in the range of800km and its competitive advantage is mainly reflected in the traffic function, sustainable development and the positive externality aspect.Finally, this thesis puts forward to suggestions from four respects, such as continue to strengthen China’s high-speed rail technology research,organization high speed railway construction scientific and orderly, constantly improve the level of our country’s high-speed railway management and operation,and Unswervingly implement the strategy of going out.
