China high-speed railway and passenger dedicated lines havebuilt a high-speed rail transportation networkgradually. With the development of China high-speed railway network, it is urgent to improve the service quality of high-speed railway, which contributes to strengthen the market competitiveness among civil aviation, road and other modes of transport and to improve the market share of railway transport. Built on intense research and analysis, this paper uses research method, comparative method, mathematical modelling, etc., to form the following contents.(1)We propose a logit model with the consideration of economy, fast performance, comfort, convenience and timeliness of transportation modes to represent the competitiveness of high-speed railway mathematically.(2)Passenger market share of Beijing to Shanghai corridor is calculated. The results indicate that the high-speed railway has the maximum market share with the transport distance of613km. In addition, civil aviationincreases its market share rapidly within600-1000km. Compared with that, traditional railway and road decrease market share with the increasing of transport distance.(3)Passenger market share of Wuhan to Guangzhou corridor is tested. The results show that the high-speed railway has the maximum market share with the transport distance of554km; civil aviationincreases its market share rapidly within600-900km. In addition, road transportation is more competitive than traditional railway in short distancetransport, especially within79km.(4)Passenger market share of Zhengzhou to Xi’an corridor is studied. The results suggest that the traditional railway and high-speed railway have nearly80%of market share, which evolves as the body of the passenger transport market. Road transport has the advantage within42km.
