Studies On The Agglomeration Of Chinese Pharmaceutical Industry

In the process of industrial development and evolution, industrial agglomeration and clustering developmentis one of the most important spatial economic phenomena. With the evolution of the industrial structure, high-tech industry has gradually become the dominant industry in the economic structure. Cluster development is one of the characteristics of high-tech industry. In the global regional economic practice, industrial agglomeration has a significant leading role to enhance the performance of regional economic development and industrial competitiveness. Industrial agglomeration has caused the attention of practice and theory. Pharmaceutical industry, especially the biopharmaceutical industry, is a typical high-tech industrial. Cluster development of pharmaceutical industry is paid attention to more and more.In this paper, we based on the evaluation of the selection ofpharmaceutical industry gathering zone and the analysis of the competitiveness of the pharmaceutical industry cluster.The main contents of the study as follows:First of all. based on the theory of industrial clustering and especially the theory of the choice of dominant industry, We analyzed therationality of the construction of pharmaceutical industry agglomeration area. Sincethe essence of the creation of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry gathering areais similar to the choice of regional leading industries, if the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is in line with the conditions of dominant industry, to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry gathering area is reasonable. According to the analysis of thecharacteristics of pharmaceutical industry with the theory and data, the results show that pharmaceutical industry is in line with the conditions of dominant industry, construction of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry agglomeration area is feasible.Secondly, We analyzed pharmaceutical industry agglomeration statusfrom the macro and micro perspective. Microscopic analysis is mainly for the pharmaceutical industry development status in all types of Industrial Park, such as The National High-tech Development Zone, Economic-Technological Development Area, export innovation base, and so on. Macro analysis is mainlytargeted at the provincial industrial agglomeration degree with EG index. The results show that the EG index of pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and chemical and pharmaceutical industryare allless than 0.02. They are low concentration degree. The EG index of Chinese pharmaceutical industry and bio-pharmaceutical industry is between 0.02 and 0.05, and the EG index of Chinese pharmaceutical industry is greater than that of the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Their concentration degree is moderate.Thirdly, based on the results of the empirical analysis on the EG index, using gray correlation theory, we performed an association analysis between and pharmaceutical economic operation performance. The results show that the factors of Production expansion capability, market expansion capability and profitability have certain relevance to pharmaceutical manufacturing industry agglomeration. The profitability has the strongest correlation. The agglomeration of pharmaceutical industry can enhance the operational performance.Fourthly, based on the Diamond Model, GEM Model and Location theory, we design the evaluation index system. We use the hierarchy analysis process to determine the weight of each index. The results show that the area pharmaceutical industry conditions and the regional government behavior have the greatest weight. The government policy of assemble system construction and the governmental focus support conditions have the largest comprehensive weight in all two grade index. They all belong to the government behavior elements. The profitability of the pharmaceutical industry, the innovation capability and the ability to market expansion are the most important elements among all of the regional pharmaceutical industry condition factors. The secondary index of regional basic elements are relatively low. The weights of technology environment and traffic environment are relatively high in all regional basic elements.Fifthly, Based on the results of the analysis of the theory and data, the strategies of the pharmaceutical industrial clustering and cluster development were discussed.
