| Industrial agglomeration is one kind of geographical concentration that is generally related to the enterprises in the same industry or the related and affiliated industries. Industrial agglomeration has existed since human society entered the industrialized era, and has become one of the basic characteristics of industrial organization. Industrial agglomeration began to become the mainstream of economic development and the key factors of regional industry competitiveness. Industry agglomeration has developed successfully in many coastal areas in China, such as the "massive economy" in Jiangsu and Zhejiang province, the model of Sunan, Wenzhou and the Pearl River delta, whose relevant industry has already had a certain competitive power in the world. And as an old industrial base in the west, the youngest municipality directly under the central government, national experimental area of integrated innovation of urban and suburb and the economic center in upstream of Yangzi River, the development of industrial agglomeration in Chongqing is still in its infancy. Developing modern industry agglomeration and industrial cluster is an inevitable choice.Chongqing has solid industrial foundation and related, what's more it's political and economic status gives it a good policy and location conditions for industrial agglomeration; it also provides conditions and opportunities for the formation of industrial clusters. The traditional advantage industry has formed some certain scale of industrial clusters, but problems also exist, such as unreasonable regional distribution of industry cluster, internal structural contradiction, the correlation between industry agglomeration and competitiveness of the industry is not close, industry agglomeration can't be fully changed into real competitiveness. To solve these problems, enough attention and policy related to the government departments is needed. After scientific and timely measures a solid foundation would be built for take the developing reasonable centralization economic, ascension of industrial competitiveness and integration of urban and rural areas in Chongqing.In this paper, based on the theories of industrial agglomeration, the figures of location entropy, degree of industry concentration, and index of regional industrial concentration are made out, using data from 2003 to 2008 of 9 industries in Chongqing, which has formed industrial clusters. Then comprehensive score can be figured out with the method of principal component analysis. After all these result being made out, the elasticity approach can show us the response to the changes of degree of industrial agglomeration of industrial competiveness. In the end this paper will give some suggestions for the reference of related departments. |
