Dynamic Characteristics And Convergence Of China’s New Manufacturing Industry

Based on the connotation of "New Manufacturing Industry", this paper gets the comprehensive evaluation index and analysis the dynamic characteristics of sectoral and regional manufacturing through building evaluation index system and using the comprehensive evaluation method. The regional differences and convergence of manufacturing of economic creation, technological innovation, environmental protection, energy saving and the new manufacturing level is analyzed. The influence factors of New Manufacturing Industry and the difference is analyzed by building a panel data model. The recommendation to improve the degree of "New Manufacturing Industry" is put forward according to the conclusions at last.China’s manufacturing industry is well developed in economy, technology, environment and energy. General evaluation result suggests that china’s the degree of the "New Manufacturing Industry" keeps increasing. The top five is Manufacture of Communication Equipment, Computers and Other Electronic Equipment, Manufacture of Electrical Machinery and Equipment, Manufacture of Transport Equipment, Manufacture of Measuring Instruments and Machinery for Cultural Activity and Office Work, Manufacture of Tobacco in sectoral angle and Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong and Zhejiang in regional angle.For the ability of economy creation, the difference of China and western region is decreasing, so the sigma convergence exists; the difference of Eastern and central regions is on the rise, so its σ-convergence does not exist. The absolute P-convergence and conditional β-convergence of China and the eastern, central and Western regions exist. There is no obvious club convergence in the eastern, central and western regions.For the ability of innovation, the difference of China, eastern, central and western regions is rising, so its σ-coverenge does not exist. The absolute β-convergence of China, eastern and western regions exist. But the central region does not exist. For the conditional P-convergence. China and eastern region exist, central and western regions does not exist. There is no obvious club convergence in the East, central and western regions.For the ability of environmental protection, China and its three regions does not exist σ-convergence. There is absolutely β-convergence in China, eastern, central and western regions. The rate of convergence is the fastest in the western regions. There is conditional β-convergence in China and three regions, the convergence rate of Eastern region is the fastest. There is no obvious club convergence in the eastern, central and western regions.For the ability of energy saving, the difference of China and three regions is decreasing. so their σ-convergence exist. There is absolute β-convergence in China, and no β-convergence in the eastern, central and western regions. the convergence rate of western region is the fastest. There is conditional β-convergence in China and three regions, and the convergence rate of the west is the fastest. There is no obvious club convergence in the East, central and western regions.From the results of standard deviation, coefficient of variation and Theil index, the level of new manufacturing industry of the eastern region has been higher than the average level; the central region and the western region has a certain gap compared with the national average and the gap has become greater gradually. The relative disparity has a trend to expanding.The result of panel data analysis shows that investment, FDI, R&D, marketization and human capital has a positive effect to manufacturing industry. Investment, R&D and human capital has a positive impact on the East, but FDI is negative. Investment. FDI and R& D has a positive impact on the Central. R&D and marketization has a positive impact on the West.The impact factors of the difference of new manufacturing industry in China, Western and Eastern is analyszed, the results show that the difference of investment has a positive impact on the national gap, and does not pass the significance test for the difference of central, western and eastern regions. The impact of FDI on the national gap is positive and through the significant test, and the same to the differences of central, Western and Eastern regions. The difference of R&D funds has positive impact on the national gap and pass the significant test. and and does not pass the significance test for the difference of central, western and eastern regions. The market-oriented degree has positive impact on national gap and the difference between central, western and eastern regions. They passed the significant test. The impact of human capital on national gap is positive, and also pass the significant test. The impact of the difference between the West and the East is not significant.
