Water resource and land resource always go hand in hand influencing the quality and further development of urbanization. Traditional researches usually confined to only one of them, regardless of their interactions, may not meet the comprehensive demand for water resource and land resource during urbanization process. In this case, research on carrying capacity of interaction between water and land resource during urbanization process has been widely concerned by domestic and foreign scholars. Doing researches on resource carrying capacity, revealing the presentations and laws of the interaction of water resource and land resource during urbanization, analyzing the influencing mechanism between the developments of water resource and land resource, building rational describing model, evaluating and predicting the integrated carrying capacity of water resource and land resource, may help to draw scientific guidelines for optimizing the use of water resource and land resource. This paper focuses on the theme of integrated carrying capacity of water resource and land resource, which took their interaction into consideration. Guiyang, located in Karst region, is chosen as a case to study the situation and changes of spatial distributions of water resource and land resource, and their inter-influencing mechanism. On that basis, this paper evaluated the integrated carrying capacity of water resource and land resource in Guiyang during the period of 1998-2012, and stimulated the further trend to 2030. After building a theoretical analytical framework, I mainly focus on the characteristics of the interaction of water resource and land resource, the evolution law of their integrated carrying capacity and its simulation. Finally, suggestions ware proposed for optimizing the utilization of water resource and land resource during rapid urbanization. The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as followed:(1) This paper suggests that the water resources status have position effect on the land resources costs, spatial expansion and land value, and found out that the development and utilization of land resources have impact on the quantity, quality and value of water resources in the exploration of land and water resources. On the basis, the evaluation index system of the comprehensive carrying capacity of land-water resources has been established in the process of urbanization. Meanwhile, the comprehensive utilization of land-water resources has been calculated by the coupling model of case area from 1998 to 2012. The results show that the interaction between water resources and land resources in the study area achieve more than 0.90, and the coordination degree of land-water resources is increased from 0.530 to 0.743. This result does means that the coordination of water resources and land resources is increasing gradually in the process of urbanization.(2) According to the coupling effect between water resources and land resources, it shows in the evaluation index of the comprehensive carrying capacity, which take water resources, land resources, social, economic and ecological aspects into consideration, that the change of the carrying capacity is obvious and increased gradually from 0.528 to 0.035. Simultaneously, the result also shows a tendency of the state of carrying capacity system from unstable to stable, while the comprehensive carrying capacity of land-water resources is increased from lower to higher level. However, the level of the comprehensive carrying capacity of land-water resources is obviously different; the amount in the growth area is less than that in decrease area, which indicates that the carrying capacity of the land-water resources is enhanced gradually in space. In order to make up the deficiency of calculating carrying capacity of just single water resources or land resources, it is necessary to take carrying capacity of both land-water resources into consideration during the process of urbanization(3) In this paper, a path of social and economic development is simulated, considering the land-water resources barrier factors, including population growth rate, GDP growth rate, land area increasing rate, cultivated land reduction rate, water consumption rate, etc. And discussed in four kinds of situations, namely status quo, the priority of economic, environmental protection and comprehensive coordination, etc. Furthermore, it is found in the population scale and economic scale forecast, that comprehensive coordination is more suitable for the actual development of Guiyang city and meet the demand of the city development and the coordination of water and land resources. In conclusion, the path of urban development with combined action of land-water resources should be chosen in the future.(4) According to the spatial difference analysis of comprehensive bearing capacity based on the interaction of soil and water resources in case area, besides the fragility of ecosystem of land-water resources, there is also a comprehensive effect of mountain system, geological structure, hydrological system and human system in Karst areas. Even though the groundwater network makes the groundwater in karst mountainous areas rich, but the shortage of surface water and difficulties of water intake are all problems. Especially, the autistic structure caused geological hydroponic, and the rich precipitation and groundwater resources will cover the essence of water shortage in Karst areas. Meanwhile, it indicated that the difference of level of carrying capacity under the action of water and land resources is closely related to the driving force of the policy system, to the individual structural change and to the market economy development. And all those factors are affecting the temporal and spatial distribution of land-water resources together.(5) In order to realize the evolution of comprehensive carrying capacity under the joint action of water and soil resources, besides the discussion on mechanism and the driving mechanism of the comprehensive carrying capacity under the influence of the comprehensive coordination model, a regulation mechanism should also be set up. In this paper, the comprehensive management of land-water resources, coordination of interests, planning guidance, the transformation ideas and other aspects are taken in to consideration. On this basis, the integrated control framework of land-water resources has been put forward to improve the optimization path of comprehensive capacity of land -water resources in the future.
