As the development of the socialist market economy system, the power industry which is the basic security industry in China is showing many disadvantages because of the monopoly mechanism. The work mode of the electricity market and the management system are facing the problem of commercial operation. The reformation of the electric power market in China will gradually establish a "separation of grid, bidding" mechanism. This paper studies issues in bidding strategy for power plant according to the power pool mode which has been widely used in power market in China. We address the problem of bidding strategy in generation side, power unit efficiency curve and distribution of contract. The main contributions of this paper are as follows.(1) We construct a power bidding curve model for power market according to the pool power model which has been widely used in the power market. The principle of determining the system marginal price of the electricity control center has been confirmed in this paper. What’s more, the bidding strategies under different relationships between generation cost and system marginal price have been determined.(2) We analysis the relationship among power points, power costs as well as marginal price of power in forecasting according to contract. We establish structure and algorithm of unit power curves under three different relationships between generation cost and the system marginal price. For the algorithm, the paper deals with the affection of fluctuation of system marginal price mp on power unit output efficiency when output point of the unit is changing.(3) According to the full day power in the contract which has been decided by power suppliers based on power scheduling, we study the problem of distribution of power in each period. We consider the characteristics of the electricity consumption trends, the unit boot up output and normal output. Using the prediction curve of power grid load and the full day power, we calculate the distribution of power in each period and propose the distribution method. Based on the contract of the initial scheme for power distribution, we present two methods of adjustment including "peak load shifting shift algorithm" and "compress modulation algorithm". The goal is to make contract assignments of power meet the unit minimum constraints on output. Furthermore, we propose waterfall iteration algorithm for optimization of distribution of power contract considering the characteristics of variation of unit power output.
