The paper explores rural-urban migration situation in Madagascar. Educated population in the country often migrates to the urban areas in search for employment; most prefered urban area is the capital city "Antananarivo" so that they could enjoy socio-economic life which is much better comparatively to life within the rural areas. The rate of rural-urban migration is presently on the increase within the global scope, many people prefer to reside in urban areas both developed and developing. However, the common scenario is adopted by youths and middle edged population with high drive of topographical location and public from one place to another. This is either on permanent or temporary basis so long as they meet their target goals of migration. The research adopt case study design based on migration from rural to urban areas in Madagascar, mainly to Antananarivo which is the country’s capital city. Madagascar is situated in sub-Saharan Africa, and is ranked among the developing countries or third world countries. In accomplishing the research, data will be collected from people who migrated from upcountry all over in Madagascar to Antananarivo, the capital city. Most of the respondents migrate to capital city for diverse reasons. The study considers a total of 385 respondents to be involved in the study. Moreover, all questionnaires will be analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS), question by question. Conclusion and suggestions will be made by the researcher regarding Motivation and strategy research of rural-urban migration in Madagascar. The main innovations of the paper are:1) to explore the characteristics of migration in Madagascar; 2) based on survey data, using Todaro Model to find out the motivation and strategy research of rural-urban migration 3) based on research results and findings, give some suggestions to the government of Madagascar. The introductory chapter entailed general introduction followed by background of the study to enhance better understanding or research study. Thereafter came statement of the problem that the researcher would solve. Objectives of the study; both general and specific, this culminated into research questions and later hinted to determination of research significance to migrants, country, region and the international scope especially in order to determine effecting urban planning. Moreover, it will enhance economic development in third world countries within sub-Saharan Africa and globally. Finally, the concluded by definition of terms, which is mainly aimed at enhance the understanding and interconnections between sentences and paragraphs in the study.Chapter two explores literary information. Introducing the chapter, the study will explore the meaning and application of the term migration in the case study area. Moreover, three theories would follow thereafter. It could be further exemplified through integrating slight theoretical point of view so that the readers would derive in-depth meaning and application of Lewis two-sector model, HT model and Solow-Swan model in regard to impacts of rural-to-urban migration on economic development in Madagascar. The researcher will further explore Sustainable Livelihoods Framework in order to explain some of the factors that were studies previously as the cause of rural-urban migration. Moreover, among the key factors and the potential mix of activities will be discussed afterwards. It often relates to distinct households diversification that lead to adopting appropriate processes that encourage effective interaction between population and environment. Finally the chapter summary.Chapter three will provide an overview of rural-urban migration in Madagascar and its consequences (both positive and negative). That is because the migration is seen to have negative and positive consequences as well. For example, the migration helps in employment opportunities since there are very few opportunities to get employment in the rural areas. The migration also helps in the civilizations of the people. The migration results to highly populate urban centers and that make it difficult for the urban areas to be managed appropriately since they are overcrowded. However, chapter four will derive and formulate theoretical model and hypothesis respectively to provide a pragmatic point of view on the research study subject and its relevance to the country. Also, it examines the background of its formation and its relevance in application migration issues. There is a critical examination looking at its relevance in influencing policy issues of a country such as Madagascar, followed by its relevance in summary.Chapter five, methodology chapter will be based on research question. Chapter four is all about the methodologies that were used in coming up with the data. There are very many ways that can be used in carrying out a research. The chapter, therefore, discusses some of the methods that were used in carrying out this study. For example, questionnaires were used in this study. The questionnaires were distributed to a number of immigrants, and they were to answer the questions that had been asked in the questionnaires. That could help in getting to understand the topic better. It could also help in getting to gather more information regarding the topic, and some of the effects that it has, especially on the immigrants. The questionnaires also helped in identifying the people that were to be sampled. The sampling helped in analyzing the information that had been collected regarding the immigration from the rural areas to the urban areas. The researcher will restate the research subject, tools, adopted research process to enhance effective accomplishment of research process and data analysis.Chapter six will use analyzed data that has been collected in chapter five to explain results and findings, which will be used to compare literary information in chapter two to affirm accomplishment of research questions in accordance with predetermined research objectives. This will ensure that the researcher keeps focus on the research questions.Analyzing the data is very important since it helps in determining whether the data is correct or not. It also helps a lot in the sampling of the collected information. It is through the information collected that the findings are generated. Therefore, the collected data is sampled with the aim of coming up with conclusions regarding the study. Conclusions chapter (seven), will entail summary of chapters (one to six). The conclusion helps in summarizing all that has been done throughout the study. It also helps in coming up with the results of the research. The results help in showing what can be done regarding the topic that is in question. It is, therefore, important to ensure that the conclusions that are made are reliable and correct as well. Thereafter, the researcher will exemplify the limitations exhibited in the study so that further research directives would be necessitated. References and appendices will be attached at the end of the study.
