| At the end of last century, public housing began to be constructed in China, its purpose was mainly to solve the housing problems of the removal and low-income households.Gradually, public housing communities was formed with a scattered pattern on the edge of cities. In recent years, in order to meet the urgent needs of the society, most of the cities have taken a large-scale centralized housing construction model, "Building City Movement" has created many low-income communities. However, the construction of public houseing lack of adequate theoretical research and systematic demonstration, whether it was in the early stage or in recent years. It’s worth noting that less attention is paid to the impact that public housing communities caused on the urban social space and the possibility of the socio-spatial differentiation, Therefore, clarifying the influence mechanism of public housing communities on urban social space and accurately grasping the dynamic impact of g public housing communities on urban social space become an important and unavoidable problem in the area of city research.The core of the impact mechanism of public housing communities on urban social space is the the relationship between the social process and the spatial form. On the one hand, public housing communities have a strong and lasting impact on the urban social space. The inevitable collision of social space environment of the city with the low-income groups in the economic, social and cultural activities is produced. On the other hand, all kinds of public housing communities in the early years and in recent years will become an integral part of the city. public housing communities are not only people’s living home but also the growth pole to promote urban development. It will have more and more impact on the city’s economic, social life and space structure. Therefore, it is necessary to combine the development of public housing communities with the urban economic and social development, do further research on the social space characteristics of various types of public housing communities and systematically analysis the interaction between public housing communities and urban social space.First of all, introduction was made to the progress of public housing in China and the outline of general situation of public housing in Nanjing. The characteristics of the spatial distribution of the public housing communities in Nanjing were summed up. The public housing communities in Nanjing were divided from the construction phase, accessibility of resources and the construction area. The analysis of the historical stage of the formation of the public housing communities had great significance to understand its impact on the urban social space.Secondly, a typical case study method was used in this paper. Four public housing communities were selected. The impact on urban social space was systematically studied from the aspects of the production and differentiation of the social space. Based on all kinds of data obtained from the survey, the impact of the construction and development of the public housing communities on the urban social space was deeply analyzed from a micro perspective. The important foundation of this paper was the empirical research, which provides the material and basis for the following research.Thirdly, on the basis of investigation and analysis of the impact of the public housing communities in Nanjing on the urban social space, combined with the relative theory, the impacts of social and economic characteristics and spatial development pattern are summed up. Impacts are subtle and long-term, however, the impact effects are procedural and dominant results. The factors that cause the impacts are further excavated from the macro, meso and micro aspects. These factors are not isolated. It was difficult to describe the relationship between factors directly. Therefore, in this paper, the factors were divided into different levels by Interpretative Structural Modeling so that make clear the relationship between the factor.Starting from the formation and evolution of the social space of the public housing communities, the evolving paths were sort out. And rules of the formation and development were summarized, the impact mechanism was analyzed. Impact mechanism research and impact factor analysis provided the research direction and analytical framework for the assessment sthudy below.Finally, in the analytical framework of the impact of the public housing communities on urban social space, 27 characterization indexes could be measured and perceived as the basis for evaluation were selected, such as the unemployment rate of residents, the proportion of low-income families combined with investigation and literature search. Then structural equation modeling was carried out by using SmartPLS software. The results showed that most of the factors have a significant positive effect on the research objects. The index weight is an important part of the evaluation work. In this chapter, the main factors and the weight of its index was calculated by normalization of contribution rate of principal factor and normalization of regression coefficient of evaluation index. Further, the grade evaluation of the impact was discussed. It displayed lively the development of the public housing communities and the impact on the urban social space. This will provide great convenience for urban planning and spatial management.In the foreseeable future, the public housing will continue to be an important focus of social policy in China. As an organic part of the city, the impact of the public housing communities on urban development and urban social space cannot be ignored. The research of this paper clearly explained the impact of the public housing communities on urban social space and provided an operational evaluation system for quantitative evaluation of this impact effectively. It also has certain practical value and theoretical value, which can provide reference for the healthy and orderly development of China’s new urbanization construction. |
