As the "eleventh five-year" construction socialism new rural strategy plan was proposed, the construction and development of the rural areas win an unprecedented attention. Compared with the city residences, the construction of the rural houses have been in relatively backward situation. In the northeast areas of China, bitter winter, soaring consumption for heating energy, serious pollution, and poor indoor thermal environmental quality affect all rural residents'lives. As the part of the building, envelop enclosure is one of the main factors that influence building's energy-saving and indoor thermal environmental quality. Along with the economy development of rural areas, the rural residents'living standard is increasing day by day, and the requirements for living conditions are also improving constantly. Thus, the performance of the traditional envelop enclosures can not meet the rural residents'requirements for the quality of the living environment. As the traffic conditions improved, the communication between urban and rural areas is strengthened, the types choice of envelop enclosure become more and more. Facing the special characteristics on climate, resources, economy and technology of the northeast rural areas, how to select the suitable envelop enclosure technology becomes an urgent problem to be solved.Based on the appropriate technology theory, this paper take the envelop enclosures of the northeast rural houses as research object and make an evaluation study, provides a solution for optimizing envelop enclosure schemes. In the first place, through the investigating to rural houses'envelop enclosures in northeast areas, understand their current status and traits on materials and constructions, and analyze the types of energy-efficient technology according to the current policies and requirements of our country. Secondly, according to the requirements of appropriate technology theory, proposes aims and method to evaluate envelop enclosures using energy-efficient technologies. Seek optimal union site of regional, environment and economy. Then the impact factors was extracted from above three aspects separately, and analyze various envelop enclosure schemes through regional evaluation, all life cycle environment assessment and all life cycle costs analysis. Summarize the influence characteristics and laws of various schemes in different areas. Finally, build the comprehensive evaluation system through summing up the above research results, and use VB and MATLAB language to develop evaluation software in order to reach the maneuverability and quickness of evaluating system.Based on the extensive field research, this paper proposes the suitability evaluation system of envelop enclosure using energy-efficient technology for rural houses in northeast areas of China. It has certain practical significance and value to improve rural residents'living environment and quality of life, and reach the aims of sustainable development.
