| Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription method is a regular rule of a prescription of a recipe which is induced on the basis of the differential diagnosis. The conception include diagnosis and treatment on the basis of an overall analysis of the illness and the patient's condition,medicine choice and prescription. The core is distinguishing primary and secondary evidence; chooseing correct prescription method, selecting primary and secondary drugs. Prescription is based on prescriptions of traditional chinese medicine, they have close relationship. The study of prescription method is an important problem about theory study of TCM formulae. It is used to solve the understanding of general regular rule of a prescription based on the analysis of TCM formulae character and to form systematic theory and method through the summary of prescribing rules of varied TCM formulae to guide the clinical practice prescribing in order to take full advantage of TCM formulae on disease treatment..This research work start from the method study of macroscopic and quantitative analysis of Prescription method. The main purpose of the research is to discuss the access to develop the theory study of TCM formulae with the information science and technology and provide informational analysis method for the study of prescription method so as to combine the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis about traditional understanding of TCM though the new technology. The building of the macroscopic and quantitative analysis method of Prescription method is based on the combining with artificial intelligence (AI) and Decision Support System (DSS) to complete the example learning of Prescription method on the basis of integrated quantitative analysis of TCM formulae ,including the relationship between dosage and function, integrated function, integrated property, flavor, channel tropism and indication. The system is composed of five subsystems: production system, control system, base managing system, dialog system (input system), explanation system (output system). The control system is the key part, including database, knowledge base, modularity base.Database:◆Chinese herb database: drug name, function, dosage range, property, flavor, channel tropism◆Formulae database: formulae name, source, indication, function, component◆Function database: total 170◆Indication database: total 242◆a pair of drags database: total 16Knowledge base:◆Relationship between different drug functions: Refer to the principle of forming a prescription, it's mainly meant the 'Qi Qing Compatibility' and the theory of principal, assistant, adjuvant and guiding drugs in a formula. Based on this theory , we set six relations between different drugs: no relation, equivalence, one-way cooperation, mutual cooperation, weak restraint and strong restraint. There are 170×170 items of the relations.◆Relationship between drug functions and indication:Base on the theory of TCM, transfer some single function of 170 kinds drug functions into its corresponding indication, or take two related function as a unit, then transfer them into a corresponding indication. There are about 300 items of the relations.modularity base:◆Module programming of relative dosage operation:The actual dosage of a drug in the prescription is named 'absolute dosage '. There is a certain range of each drug habitual dosage, which due to the difference of drug property, flavor, texture, applying part,etc. The importance and rank of an ingredient drug in a prescription depend on the potency of its function.
