With the progress in medical technology, there has been considerable change in human disease spectrum. Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and malignant tumors have become the chief causes of human death. As a result, research on tumor treatment has gradually become the focus of the development of medical science. Liver cancer is one of the common malignant rumors in the world, the treatment of which is still far from being satisfactory. Plants of Annonaceae and their chemical components have very strong anti-tumor effect. Invitro experiments have proved their strong inhibitory effect on tumor, but so far there have been few vivo experiments in this respect. So we conducted an experiment on living animals to test the anti-tumor effect of Cherimoya-family plants. The first part of this treatise illustrates the current development of the research on hepatocarcinoma treatment, the anti-tumor therapy of Chinese traditional medicines and surveys the research on the treatment of cancer by the use of Cherimoya-family plants as well as the prospect of the use of Annonaceae plants for cancer treatment. The second part of this treatise describes the experiments conducted in the current project. To investigate the inhibitory effect of the alcoholic extract from the leaves of Annona glabra (LAG) on the growth of mouse cancer (Heps), a model of the solid tumor of transplanted cancer (Heps) were built. The rate of the inhibition of tumor growth, the indexes of spleen and thymus were checked. The pathological change of solid tumor, and the effect on peripheral blood cells, renal function, hepatic function, and the expression of Bax/Bcl-2 gene albumen in tumor tissues on the mouse were also observed. The result of this experiment shows that the rates of the inhibition of tumor were 48.48%, 47.72%, 40.91% respectively in the cases of high, medium, low dosage of LAG . The apoptosis of many tumor cells accompanied by characteristic morphological change in the medication-administrated group is observed through optical microscopes and electronic microscopes, with down-regulation of bcl-2 gene expression and up-regulation of bax gene expression. Next, the inhibitive effect of SAG (the alcoholic extract in the part of dichlormethane from the seeds of Annona glabra) on the growth of mouse cancer (Heps) is also investigated. The result shows the inhibitive effect on tumor growth were 67.42%, 65.15% and 63.63% respectively in the case of high, medium and low SAG dosage groups. The apoptosis of many tumor cells accompanied by characteristic morphological change in the medication-administrated group is observed through optical microscopes and electronic microscopes, with down-regulation of bcl-2 gene expression and up-regulation of bax gene expression. This result suggests SAG has very significant inhibitive effect on tumor. One of its inhibitive mechanisms lies in its induction of tumor cell apoptosis. Finally, a model of pre-cancer pathological changes in rats was built to investigate the preventive effect of Annona glabra Extract (AGE) on rat liver cancer induced by diethylnitrosamine (DEN). By means of liver tissue pathology, immunity histochemistry, blood serum and tissue biochemistry, the effect of AGE on DEN induced liver cancer were observed. The results shows significant...
