Objective The incidence of Hyperlipidemia or HLP is increasing high as the improvement of people's everyday living standards and the speedy aging process. It also presents a trend of being more youthful. It is a leading and sole causing factor of cardio-cerebrovascular disorders and scleratheroma. Hyperlipidemia is a latent dangerous pathological factor causing obesity, diabetes, fatty liver diseases and hypertension. In the blood, 70% cholesterol is carried by LDL and VLDL; In the blood circulation, 75% LDL is cleared by liver among which 90% is through the way of LDLR. To improve the expression of LDL to help liver clear LDL is a key to prevent and treat cardio-cerebrovascular disorders. As a result, the enhancement of the expression of the low density lipoprotein receptor is a focus point and breakthrough in the research of Hyperlipidemia. Acupuncture needling can work on Hyperlipidimia through multiple targets and channels which can interfere with the process of cardio-cerebrovascular disorders and artherosclerosis. In this research, Zu San-li and Leiguan acupoints were chosen to work on SD rats in order to observe the pathological changes of hepatic fat tissues, biological factors, genetic expression and valuate the mechanism of acupuncture on the prevention and treatment of cardio-cerebrovascular disorders and artherosclerosis.based on cellular biological factor through such markers as LDLR activity and genetic expression. Methods SD rats were divided into four groups, the normal group, the model group, the electro-acupuncture group and medicine group. Rats in the normal group were fed with general feedstuff, while rats in the rest group were all gi ven feedstuff with rich fat. 30 days after modeling, Lei-guan and Zu San-li of both sides were needled with electro-acupuncture which lasted 10 min per time and 15 days in total. Rats in the other groups were binded only. The pathological changes of the hepatic tissues and the microstructure of the arteries were observed through HE coloring and TG, TC with the method of enzymic method; the contents of LDL-C and HDL-C were detected by screening method; the levels of TXA2;PGI2, ET, INS by radio-immunity method; Total RNA by uanidinium thiocyanate-phenol-trichlormethane method. The levels of LDLRmRNA of the livers of the rats were detected by RT-PCR. And the effects of electroacupuncture on the markers mentioned above were also observed. Results â‘  electroacupuncture could significantly decrease the contents of TC,TG,LDL of the serum of rats with hyperlipoidemia, and increase the content of HDL (P<0.05, P<0.01); decrease the levels of TXA2,ET,INS,Leptin and increase the levels of PGI2 (P<0.05, P<0.01); obviously affect the lipoid degeneration and the formation of atherosclerosis of rats with hyperlipoidemia; improve the activity of LDLR and genetic expression. â‘¡ With regard to the model group the levels of TC,TG,LDL were significantly increased in the blood spasm of the rats; the weights...
