Background:Cerebral infarction is a common cerebrovascular disease with high morbidity and mortality. It is the most frequent course of adult-onset disability and the cost of related care is among the fastest-growing expenses for medical care. Atherosclerosis is the main cause of stroke. Only part of the stroke can be attributed to the traditional risk factors, such as smoking, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, moking, hyperlipidemia and diabetes mellitus et al. Therefore, study must be explored to new risk factors to find which kinds of patients are in high stroke risk and need intensive intervention. In recent years, it has been known that inflammation plays a key role in atherosclerosis. More and more attention has been paid to the relationship between markers of inflammation and stroke. The proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 and soluble ICAM-1 may be the marker of inflammation. The relationship between ICAM-1 K469E gene polymorphism and PAOD was reported by Gaetari and colleagues in 2002. Many studies were on the association between interleukin-6 G(-174)C gene polymorphism and atherosclerosis with divergent results, and synergistic effect of G(-174)C gene polymorphism and K469E gene polymorphism of the ICAM-1 was reported in patients with history of stoke.Objects:1 To evaluation the relationship between plasma levels of soluble ICAM-1 or interleukin-6 and the attack of cerebral infarction; 2 To investigate the association between between plasma levels of soluble ICAM-1 or interleukin-6 and the prognosis of cerebral infarction; 3 To learn the distribution frequencies of ICAM-1 and interleukin-6 genetypes in Chinese; 4 To test if the gene polymorphism of ICAM-1 and interleukin-6 are associated with the occur or prognosis of cerebral infarction; 5 To evaluation if the plasma levels of the soluble ICAM-1 or interleukin-6 is affected by the gene polymorphism of ICAM-1 and...
