Inhibitory Effects Of Chinese Herb Extracts Twy Angiogenesis

Angiogenesis has been demonstrated playing important role in the pathological processes of malignant tumor. It is one of the most active research area to suppress or block the angiogenesis in tumor tissue. A few items were allowed to use in clinical practice. Finding Chinese medicinal materials effective to controlling angiogenesis in tumor is of great importance. 32 samples from 16 different kind of medicinal plants were scrutinized using CAM in this project. And, the most effective one ,TWY , was selected to be the object for studying its mechanism in the treatment of experimental carcinoma of mice-Objective:To study the ability and the mechanism of TWY, an extract of a Chinese medicinal plant, a. ainst angiogenesis.Methods:CAM was used for screening, ELISA and immunohistochemistry were employed to identify the content of VEGF in the plasma, expression of VEGF ,KDR ,TSP-1 and MVD in the tumor tissue of experimental uterus carcinoma in mice.Results:Extract TWY is very effective to suppress the angiogenesis in CAM; can reduce the mass of tumor and the number of metastasis in lung and liver significantly; can lower the contents of VEGF in plasma and weaken the expression of VEGF, KDR; strengthen the expression of TSP-1 in tumor tissue; and change the MVD significantly.conclusion:TWY can suppress angiogenesis is CAM significantly.TWY can reduce the growth of tumor and decrees metastasis to lung and liver. TWY can suppress angiogenesis in tumor tissue, VEGF, KDR, MVD and TSP-1 are the function targets possibly.
