In this topic, the systematic researches were performed on the quantitative microscopic method for analysis Chinese traditional medicine for first time. The aim of the experiment is to detect the quality of Chinese patent medicine by the quantitative microscopic method which is a complement measure of chemical detection method.The experiment materials included chinese corktree bark, sanchi, cinnabar, barbary wolfberry fruit and chinese magnoliavine fruit respectively represent the cortex, radix and rhizoma, mineral, and fruit and seed of Chinese traditional medicine.The microscopic character constant of the special microscopic characters of the 5 drugs such as stone cell, calcium oxalate cluster crystal, anomalo-massive substance and testa stone cell were repectively detected. The fitting experiment condition were acquired by the homogeneous design research and were validated through the methodology test.The main active constitutent were mensurated that include hydrochloric berberine, saponin, HgS, medlar amylose, and schizandrol A. And the correlation analysis for the component content and the microscopic character constant of the drugs were performed. Then, a conclusion was drawned: there had a high correlation and good linearity relationship between the content of hydrochloric berberine and the stone cell microscopic character constant of chinese corktree bark; there had a low correlation between the sum of three saponins and calcium oxalate cluster crystal microscopic character constant of sanchi(a middle correlation between ginseng Rg1 and that); there had a high correlation and good linearity relationship between the content of HgS and the anomalomassive substance microscopic character constant of cinnabar; there had a high and negative correlation between the content of medlar amylose and the testa stone cell microscopic character constant of barbary wolfberry fruit; there had a middle correlation between the schizandrol A and endopleura stone cell microscopic character constant of chinese magnoliavine fruit.A quantitative microscopic study had been executed on the 5 drugs in the Chinese patent medicine, that were ermiaowan, baidaiwan, shuxiongpian, huoxuezhitongsan, qilisan, bingpengsan, wuziyanzongwan. The results indicated that the percentage content of the herb contained in Chinese patent medicine can be accurately mensurated if only get the microscopic character constant of the herb.A method was established used to detect the microscopic character constant of chinese corktree bark, an example of Chinese traditional medicine. A quantitative microscopic method was framed to detect the content of chinese corktree bark contained in ermiaowan, an example of Chinese patent medicine. And The established methods can offer more reference information for the redaction work of the next edition pharmacopoeia.The conclusion can be validated from all the experimental results: detecting the microscopic character constant of Chinese traditional medicine with high correlation between the component content and the microscopic character constant can be used as a quality standard of Chinese traditional medicine, and the quality of the drugs can be judged by the microscopic character constant. It is suggested to add the method detecting the microscopic character constant of Chinese traditional medicine with high correlation between the component content and the microscopic character constant in the pharmacopoeia. The percentage content of the herb contained in Chinese patent medicine can be accurately mensurated if only get the microscopic character constant of the herb. The quantitative microscopic method is simple and feasible, and the results are steady and credible. The study on the quantitative microscopic method can provide a new technic medium on the quality control. Especially, the method has a good application value for determining the quality of the Chinese patent medicine of which the active component are uncleared now. And also, it is suggested to add the quantitative microscopic method detecting the Chinese patent medicine containing the powder herbs in pharmacopoeia.
