Research On The Political Work System Of The National Revolutionary Army(1924-1949)

To get an army with absolute obedience to The Kuomintang, The Kuomintang leaded by Sun Yat-sen implemented the political system centered on the party representative, taking the political department as the concrete practice unit and assisted with building party headquarters from above in the army, following the example of Soviet Union Army. The dissertation takes the political work system of the national revolutionary army from 1924 to 1949 as the object of study, using the methods of static and dynamic,vertical and horizontal comparative study in order to obtain a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the system.The dissertation analyses the origin,evolution,internal structure,actual operational aspect of the political work system of the national revolutionary army.The theory of the political work system of the national revolutionary army cone from Sun Yat-sen's "doctrine of army building,the party running the army and the people of force" thinking which was the results Sun Yat-sen Learned experience of the Soviet Army. After the Northern Expedition, significant changes took place in the political work system of the national revolutionary army, along with the purge movement waged. The theory of the political work system of the national revolutionary army have been adjusted several times because of the changes of political situation, however, the political work system of army haven't changed the situation as a vassal of the armed forces. The party representative or the political department is the core of the system, the Political work organization of the army was responsible for the party affairs. The party committee organizes couldn't play the proper leading role. The political work system's actual movement received system's restriction, but more concerned with Kuomintang's populace policy, organization development, internal clique, officers and soldiers quality, traditional thought, which made it different from the system provided. Its actual movement manifests the overall situation is:The officers and soldiers disagree, the soldiers and civilians to disagree, The military officer and the political officers disagree. By the anti-communism, resists communists as well as maintaining the Chiang Kai-Shek leader status, The political work system has played the role in maintaining Kuomintang's rule, but actually has not been able to cause the national revolutionary army to become the army which was directed by the party and unified with the populace in Sun Yat-Sen ideal.After becoming the incumbent party, Kuomintang loses its sophistication gradually, system's revolutionary theory was replaced by "a principle, a leader, a political party", The national revolutionary army also becomes the inner-party public figure to fight for power and profit, the maintenance one party dictatorship tool, not populace's army absolutely.
