Since the 20th century, the new movie art and old novel art had gradually developed a two-way interaction. The novel provided the culture sources for the movies from thinking pattern to art form which accelerated the art development of movies. On the other hand, the fast development of movies influenced the novels deeply. It led to the system adaptation of novels and triggered the inner changes of novels too. The tendency of visualization narration becomes a new phenomenon of modern novel writing. There are many practices but little theoretical study on the relationship between novels and movies. The limited theoretical studies mostly focus on the influence of novels on movies. Few people discuss the visualization narration tendency in the modern novels.This paper discusses the relationship between modern novels technique and audio-visual, space-time free shift and montage etc. Also it explores the creation style, writing technique and acceptance ways of modern Chinese novels under the influence and permeation of movies.This paper is divided into 6 chapters: preface, main body and ending part.The preface is an introduction. It explains the necessity of the topic , illustrates the research ideas, method and innovation points and defines the related concepts.The first chapter begins with the change between words and images. It recalls the brief mutual history of novels and movies and combs the facts how the modern novelists attended the early Chinese movie creation. Actually, there are many ways for modern writers to attend the movie creation, which arise the changes of movie concepts.The paper then divides 30 years of modern literature into three phases.Chapter 2 analyses some specific writers and novels from theme selection, time-space treatment, point of view narration, montage reference and movie language reference and other aspects. Then propose the subject that cinematic imagination exists in modern novels. "Taking material from movie story directly"was mentioned in of Shen congwen. Besides him, many writers chose novel materials related with movies. This section discusses from the appearance of female and female images, time-space appearance of urbanscape and direct appearance of movie world.The spatialization of novel form mainly exists in reference of the spatial construction form of modern novel from movies and movie techniques such as montage. At the same time, many movie techniques are used to realize the narration of stories from different angles.Montage is the most common technique in modern movies. When it is used in the novel, it breaks the time stream and makes movie shift to the space. Also it can make the novel simple, influent and rich in story. This chapter discusses several kinds of montage and diversified structures used in the novels.The reference of movie languages exists in pictorial narration, visualization, combination of sound and picture and the emphasis on characteristics and scene motions.The narrative angle of novels is similar to the camera eyes. In the section of multi-variation of narrative angle, based on the three focus ways, we analyze the outer focalization, infinitive inner focalization, multi-inner focalization and explore the influence of movie to the narrative angle of novel.Chapter 3 discusses the reason of the appearance of visualization narration tendency of modern novel from three aspects. First there are common things between novel and movies in aesthetic point of view. Secondly the inner aesthetic update needs of novel permeate and influence the movie outer narration. Thirdly after the interference of writers to the movies, the creation concepts of the novelists have changed a lot, which makes movie become a topic of modern writers about life and novel creation.Chapter 4 analyzes the change in the word style of modern novel brought about cinematic imagination. First it provides the novels the possibility of the self update construction form. Second during the merging process of novel and movie, a new style was born, that is movie novel, a literature style determined by movie pattern. It started in 1920's, developed in 1930's and 1940's. Besides, it leads to the pure novel tendency. The ending part summarizes the echo of cinematic imagination in modern novels. After the new era, the novels boomed again. It began to refer to the other art forms such as movies to enrich itself. Especially at the end of 20 century, with the arrival of movies, there appeared lots of cinematic novels. So the discussion of the tendency of visualization narration of modern novel can provide some good inspirations for Chinese novel and movies in the future.To sum up, the conclusion of the paper is that there are changes from words to images in the modern Chinese novels. The tendency of visualization in the modern novels is undisputable fact. The cinematic imagination in the novels is the necessity of the richness of the modern Chinese novels. It provides the possibility of self-construction in the new form dimensions for the novels, and has especial deep meaning for the style innovation of modern Chinese novels.
