Causality, is a kind of common phenomenon in the real life, and is a pair of basic categories in Philosophy. So, the position of Sentences that states causality is quite special, and its function is more important. Causality Sentences is the representative type of the Sentences that states causality. For this reason, this dissertation specially studies the Causality Sentences in modern Chinese. The Causality Sentences that this thesis studies is a type of Sentences that it consists of two or several sentences and states causality. The basic theory of this study is the "Hypothesis of the pivotal status of clauses", and the basic approach is the "Two triangles". Concretely speaking, the warp of this dissertation is the Causality Sentences that consists of two sentences, the Causality Sentences that consists of three sentences> the Causality Sentences that consists of four sentences, and the weft of this dissertation is the disposition of semantic meaning, the combination of form N the arrangement of modality. This dissertation consists of seven chapters. Chapter 1 gives a brief account of the present research situation of Sentences and the achievements in scientific research of the Causality Sentences, defines the object of study, introduces the cause, the approach, the purpose of study.Chapter 2, 3 describe the disposition of semantic meaning, the combination of form, the arrangement of modality of the Causality Sentences that consists of two sentences, discuss the disposition of semantic meaning and the combination of form of some specific types of modality arrangement.Chapter 4 describes the disposition of semantic meaning, the combination of form, the arrangement of modality of the Causality Sentences that consists of three sentences.Chapter 5 describes the disposition of semantic meaning and the combination of form of the Causality Sentences that consists of four sentences.Chapter 6 is the comparison among three types of Causality Sentences. By means of the comparison, these conclusions can be drawn: the disposition of cause and effect inCausality Sentences has four types- "cause + effect", "effect + cause", "cause +effect + cause", "effect + cause + effect". The type that the rate of utilization is the highest is the type of "effect + cause", and the type that the rate of utilization is the lowest is the type of "cause + effect + cause". There are some compositions that don't express cause and effect. These compositions include introducing composition^ assisting composition > connecting composition. The types of the disposition of semantic meaning in Causality Sentences are six. The approaches of the combination of form in Causality Sentences that a man states are quite different from those in Causality Sentences that several men state. The connecting words that the rate of utilization is higher in Causality Sentences are "Yin wei", "Suo yi", "Yu shi". In the arrangements of modality of the Causality Sentences, the type that the rate of utilization is the highest is the type of pure "Chen Shu", and the type that the rate of utilization is the lowest is the type of pure "Qi Shi".Chapter 7 is a summary of this study. This part summarizes the foothold and basic point of this study, sums up the train of thought of this study, ponders over some questions about Sentences.
