Zhu Xi's thought about "the Principle is one, its implementation is divided into multiplicity" is the central concept of Zhu Xi's philosophy. As the collector of the achievements of Neo-confucianism, Zhu Xi accepted the results of the research made by five scho lars during the Northern Song Dynasty, and established a Set of complete theoretical system of Neo-confucianism. Pointed their direction to Buddhism and Taoism, the five scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty Studied the idea of the Value of Confucianism by elevating it to the ontological level, and provided the ontological foundation for the cultural idea of the value of Confucianism. In the process of accepting and synthesising the thoughts of Neo-confucianisrn developed by the five scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty. Zhu Xi presented the thought about "the Principle is one, its implementation is divided into multiplicity" as the central concept by which he finished the debate on the problem of Neo-confucianism of the Northern Song Dynasty, and established his own theoretical system. The fact that the five scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty studied the human life emphasized by Confucianism by elevating it to the onttological level showed that they all had the thought about "the Principle is one, its implementation is divided into multiplicity". From the perspective of the basic problem of Neo-confucianism, each of the five scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty advocated the thought about "the Principle is one, its implementation is divided into multiplicity", but in the process of exploring this problem, they had different point of view. Zhou Dunyi, Shao yong, Zhang Zai mainly explained "Principle's implementation is divided into multiplicity" from "the Principle is one", emphasized the ontological dimension of universe, but ignored the Subjective capacity of human mind, whereas Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi explained "the Principle is one" from "Principle's implementation is divided into multiplicity", relatively emphasized the subjective capacity of human mind, but ignored the ontological dimension of universe. Zhu Xi treated the relationship between "the Principle is one" and "Principle's implementation is divided into multiplicity" of the five scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty as the interactive relationship between two opposite directions, therefore he finished the debate on the onto;ogical problem of the five scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty, and established his own theoretical system according to the thought about "the Principle is one, its implementation is divided into multiplicity".In terms of the mode by which Zhou Dunyi, Shao Yong and Zhang Zai explained "Principle's implementation is divided into multiplicity" from "the Principle is one", Zhu Xi explained human nature from the Grand Ultimate as universal origin, and secured the foundation of the universal ontology of Confucian value. Everything is derived from the Grand Ultimate, they are divergences from the Grand Ultimate, the Grand Ultimate is the origin of everything, and every concrete matters have the Grand Ultimate as their own nature. As regards the relationship between "the Principle is one" and "Principle's implementation is divided into multiplicity", Zhu Xidistinguished them as they were, on the one hand, the Grand Ultiniat is mot divergences and vice versa, on the other hand, the Grand Ultimate included divergences, and divergences contained the Grand Ultimat. both of them are inextricable connectedBy developing the theory of Zhang Zai about the domination of mind over nature, Zhu Xi maintained that the nature is the common characteristic of everything in universe, emotion is the divergence from the nature. Although the matters have the common characteristic of everything in universe, but they can not completely fulfil their own nature, only human being have their own mind, and can fulfil the common characteristic of everything in universe. Zhu Xi held that the difference between human and matters consists in the subjective capacity of human mind, and if co...
