This essay made a detailed analyze of the Pictorial Symbol Systems of Ethnical Groups in Yun-nan and analyzed their same origins, the way they influence each other, and how they transit with time. The author highlighted the importance of the interpretation of the ethnical characters, geographical characters and the traditions lying in the contents of ethnical cultures during the study of ethnical fine arts.Through the exhibition of ethnical visual culture and arts, the analyze of the transition an inheritance of Ethnical Aesthetic Images, the author surfaced the reality of their historical developments which proved the fact that the transition of Ethnical Aesthetic Images were influenced by imported culture as well as the self-revaluation of its own culture. In order to understand the ethnical aesthetic images better, the author has done a detailed study different aspects of them such as 1) the normal visual images in daily life, the architect design, the molding of tools; 2) Pictorial Symbols in ethnic costume, the highly decorative daily art products; 3) and ethnical ceramics for religions, entertaining or other non-practical purposes. The author found out the regular pattern of the transition and inheritance of ethnical aesthetic images and used it as the foundation of his strategy about how to develop further the study of ethnical fine arts and even ethnical fine arts itself.The systematic analyze of how different cultures influenced and were mixed with each other were at the very first of this essay, to let reader have a better understanding of their history origins. The author investigated the culture exchange among different ethnic groups from three aspects as the migration of ethnic tribes, the business communication and the spread of religions. After his investigation of the reasons of migration, author divided the ethnical migration as nature expansion; social reform and exile form natural disaster three types. On the point of business communication, the author focused on the Southwest Silk-road and the Historical Grocery Route, the two most important business arteries. During the research of religion spread, the author took Buddhism and Christianity, the two most influential one in modern history, as case studies to investigate the their influences on contemporary culture.In chapter two, to further investigate the relations between the inheritances and transitions of ethnical Pictorial Symbols, the author have done a detailed evaluation of the components of culture inherence; studied different eras of culture development among same tribes and even have examined the complicity of the rectilinear and curvilinear motions of ethnic culture inheritance. Through those hard work, the author fond out the ranks and different weights of image symbols in the racial Pictorial Symbol System.From Chapter Three, this essay will be focused on the study of the inheritance and transition of aesthetic images. The author examined the geographical characters and the epoch characters of the two and used several typical cases to prove that people in different areas do share some similar Pictorial Symbols in spite of their aesthetic tradition. On the point of transition with time, or the epoch character, the author compared historical written documents and field investigations and found that the self-born need for the use of traditional aesthetic images were from the self-evaluation and collective awareness of racial character. But the author also figured out ethnic tribes made some miss-interpretations among them and have cause some miss-understanding of their racial aesthetic images.The author summarize his investigation by his conclusion about the regular pattern of the transition and inheritance of ethnical aesthetic images and used it as the foundation of his strategy about how to develop further the study of ethnical fine arts and even ethnical fine arts itself.
