Decent years, traditional culture and its vicissitudes attack the attention of the scholars. The protection and development of traditional culture are collected with the social life, and it has been an important subject to find the joint of modernization and traditional culture, and to adjust traditional culture.On the basic theory of culture vicissitudes, the paper takes an ethnic group language as an important part of cultural ecosystem. The writer thinks that the cultural ecosystem has different types and layers. First, each language culture makes up of a language cultural ecosystem. On one hand, each language develops harmoniously in this ecosystem. On the other hand, each language competes with each other. The changes of one or more languages will put the language cultural ecosystem in an unsteady state, and then causes the vicissitudes of language culture. Secondly, each ethnic group culture that includes language makes a certain system, and any layer's change in the system will cause the changes of other layers and then causes the vicissitudes of the ethnic group culture. On the premise of this theory, on the documents and enough field works, the paper takes Pojiao community where the Tujia language keeps better as a case, and the paper discusses the using situation, the communicating function and the heritage of the Tujia language.The dissertation consists of eight parts.Part One: This part introduces the theories and the methods of choosing of current topic. Meanwhile, the part introduces the cause, the foundation, the scope and the meaning of the research. It also illustrates the reason of choosing investigation place. The dissertation stresses the theory of cultural vicissitudes and illustrates that language is an organic composition in the cultural ecological system. The dissertation explains the mutual relationship of language and culture, and it also introducesacademic value of the case research of the Tujia language.Part Two: In this part, the writer generally introduces historical origin and course, cultural traits of the Tujia language, and then introduces Pojiao community from the evolution, natural and cultural environment. The dissertation illustrates in detail the cultural traits of Pojiao as a typical Tujia community.Part Three: In the part, the dissertation generally introduces the traits of the Tujia language. First, it introduces the notes about the Tujia language vocabulary from early documents. Then it briefly introduces Luxi Tujia language that stands for the southern dialect of the Tujia language. At last it introduces in detail Pojiao language that stands for northern dialects of the Tujia language.Part Four: The part illustrates that the ethnic group cultural vicissitudes takes influences on the traits of The Tujia language from 3 layers. The first layer discusses that Chinese affects Pojiao Tujia language from the pronunciation. The writer thinks the influences are remote. The second layer illustrates syllables' changes of the Tujia language vocabulary and the meanings' forming and changes of the Tujia language. The third layer illustrates that Chinese affects the Tujia language from the angle of grammar. The dissertation thinks that the influences on the Tujia language are all-round, and the influences of Chinese have gotten into the core field of the Tujia language.Part Five: This part mainly discusses the influences of the ethnic group cultural vicissitudes on heritage of the Tujia language. The dissertation analyses the using state from the angle of genealogy and legend materials, investigation materials since 20 century 50 years and the current investigation. The writer thinks that the scope and people number of using the Tujia language gradually become less and less, and the Tujia language has shrunk back to the Tujia village.
