Late Qing And Republican Chinese Nation Consciously Process Research

The study of the course of consciousness of the Chinese nation is an important link in the study of the history of the formation and development of the Chinese nation. It is rich in theoretical implications. However, up to now, there is no book devoted to this subject. The theoretical value of such a study is as follows: the essence of the consciousness of the Chinese nation is a process of the integration of the consciousness of the national community and that of the national modernity, so the national structure of the Chinese nation possesses unique features; "external" factors play a role in the consciousness of the Chinese nation, so the study of this subject must make use of theories about nations and modernization to analyze the general laws followed by the consciousness of the Chinese nation. However, as a result of the above-mentioned factors, apart from following the general laws of national consciousness, the course of consciousness of the Chinese nation is unavoidably characterized by complexity, tortuousness and uniqueness. Therefore, this dissertation seeks to analyze the uniqueness of the consciousness of the Chinese nation with the theories and research methods of history, ethnic political science and ethnology, so as to enrich the theories about nations and modernization. Based on the needs of the study of the formation history of the Chinese nation, the dissertation deals systematically with the course of consciousness of the Chinese nation, the constraining effects of the structural features of the Chinese nation and the national cultural tradition on this course, and the effects of subjective initiative exercised by the subject of the consciousness of the Chinese nation. The purpose is to explore the historical course of the consciousness of the Chinese nation and sums up its development trends and its enlightenment on people, so as to provide academic basis for the study of the formation history of the Chinese nation (modern times) as well as to enable members of the Chinese nation to deepen their knowledge and understanding of their nation and to further enhance the cohesion and national competitive consciousness of the Chinese nation.With the exploration of the course of consciousness of the Chinese nation as the vertical thread, the dissertation tentatively divides the courseof consciousness of the Chinese nation in the period of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China into the following stages: the beginning of the consciousness of the Chinese nation, the tortuous development of the consciousness of the Chinese nation, the different orientations and common pursuits of the theories and policies of the consciousness of the Chinese nation, and the extensive development of the consciousness of the whole Chinese nation. The dissertation uses a chapter to discuss each of these stages. While analyzing the phased development of the consciousness of the Chinese nation, the dissertation also explores the course of the layered and deepening development of the consciousness of the Chinese nation and the horizontal expansion of the consciousness of the Chinese nation, so as to demonstrate the interaction, integration and combination between the community consciousness and modernity consciousness, between the political consciousness and cultural consciousness, and between the consciousness of the elite and the consciousness of the masses. The dissertation explains the theoretical significance embodied in the tortuousness, complexity and uniqueness of the course of consciousness of the Chinese nation and their effects on the development of the Chinese nation.Through the systematic discussion and analysis of the course of consciousness of the Chinese nation, the dissertation comes up with several conclusions.
