The theme of the article is to discuss the inter-relation and inter-effect between modern Chinese literature and middle school Chinese education (mainly about literature education) and the key point is to study and solve the problem as follows: First, what kind of literature concept has been formed by the thoughts of literature in modern China, the literature movement, literature work and literary theory and what effect has been caused by them on middle school literature education. Second, what effect has been caused by the system, conception and reform of education in modern China on the transmission and acceptation of Chinese literature; third, on what point dose the development of literature interact with mother tongue education and how do they march towards modernization and globalization during the process of interaction and inter-promotion; forth, how literature discourse and educational discourse move towards integration in the new century and how literature education in middle school is to launch. The study perspective employed in this thesis is discourse practice and discourse analysis. Both modern Chinese literature and modern Chinese education are born and grow under the influence of the notion of modern nation-state which inversely is forged and formed under the great influence of them two. However, they don't take effects in completely the same field or in the same way. The former one is mainly through literature writing and reading while the latter one is through the acceptance and disciplinary training of education. But they both use language and text as the tool and take effects in the common way of discourse practice and share the same goal of educating people and the same motive force of modernization. Therefore, though some distinctive characteristics and rule do exist in modern Chinese literature and modern Chinese education separately, their development traces are overlapping and interacting with each other with the connecting point and resonance which is discourse practice embodied by the argument between writing in modern Chinese and classical Chinese and the one between the content and form of articles. With the method of discourse practice, we could get some beneficial revelation from the development of same direction.
