This paper observes and studies the development of religion management laws, institutions and practices in Tang Dynasty in order to get a picture of the general situation of the management on religion affairs.Chapter 1 compiles and restores some prescriptions on religion affairs in the laws and regulations of Tang Dynasty. The lost Dao Seng Ge, specializing on the religion affairs, is the main object, which would be restored according to the text and annotates of the Japanese Seng Ni Ling. Besides I propose some different opinions on the methods of other scholars with regard to the revision.Chapter 2 is the studies about the development and revolution of the management institutions on the religion affairs, which emphasizes on the function of the Ci Department and Gong De Shi as well as their relationship. Still there is an exploration on the development of the Buddhists and Taoists officials especially in detail verifies the changes of the official position named Dao Men Wei Yi Shi.Chapter 3 discusses the system of Chu Jia (becoming monk), in which the key point is the system of Du Die (the certificate of a monk). I would like to clear the past researches, try to re-explain Du Die itself with the help of documents both in Chinese and Japanese, and thus get a novel idea on it. Also I would propose my own opinions on some other institutions such as the systems of Pei Ming and Yi Li - a significant part in the system of Chu Jia.Chapter 4 is the research of the monastery management and the accounts of Buddhists and Taoists in Tang Dynasty, which is done in the connection with Dunhuang Turfan Documents, and analysis of the development and reason on the account management. In the first part I study the classification of monasteries and the grant institution in Tang Dynasty, gain clear idea of some details in the monastery management such as the procedure and purpose of the grant application of monasteries. The second part is the analysis on the structure, function and features of the accounts of Buddhists and Taoists. In the third part I analyze the population of Buddhists and Taoists and the number control of the monasteries.Chapter 5 explains the implementing situation of the religion...
