Canada is a country seriously tortured by kinds of regional isms, and Wcstern Alienation is an inalienable part of them. From the very beginning of the II. B. C transferred the west to the federal government, regionalism was rooted in this wild land: First the rebellion of Louis Liel, followed by the struggle against the National Policy, the Third Party Movement and so on. And just after the west received the equal right status from the federal government, they put themselves immediately into the struggle for equal development opportunities, the Province-building and Diversification, Western Alienation, and Western Separatism were just a few exampl es of them.I try to pursue the reasons leading to the western Canadian regionalism, to follow its lines of development and to search for ways to help the west move out of this kind of difficult positions. By doing so, 1 would like to do something useful to the economic and cultural exchanges between the Chinese people and the people living in the Canadian west and show the experiences and the lessons of the Canadian Western Regionalism to the Chinese government to be used for reference to the Chinese western exploitation.
