cultural globalization is a disputable proposal, which some agree on its coming while others deny. Cultural globalization is believed in this paper to be an inevitable objective issue on the basis of a research on the process of the globalizing of culture and the cultural diversion in the age of globalization. As a global phenomenon accompanying economic globalization, cultural globalization is motivated by capital expansion; as the process and result of the integration of national cultural conflicts, nationality is the essential feature of cultural globalization; in the modern times dominated by capitalistic culture, cultural globalization is the parallel of regular development and capitalism pattern. All the studies of cultural globalization deal with the same root issue: the relationship between cultural integration and cultural diversity. Cultural integration and diversity is long-existed in the development of human culture. However, in the process of the globalizing of culture, the relationship between cultural integration and diversification underwent a fundamental change: the old integration and diversification is spontaneous. Nevertheless, in the age of globalization, cultural development is much more than a pure cultural issue, for it develops with a tendency towards marketing and commercialization, and the relations between culture and politics and economy is growing unprecedentedly close. As a result, cultural globalization becomes a spontaneous cultural selection. The integration and diversification present in the process of cultural globalization includes pursuits of a common value and national cultural diversification as well as the hegemonial integration of the predominant cultures and the diversification of non-predominant cultures. In the process of realizing the co-existence of the pursuit of a common value and diversified national cultures, the contradiction between the attempt of a hegemonial integration by the predominant cultures and the insistence on diversification by non-predominant cultures becomes apparent and intensified, constituting the major contradiction in the process. In the contest between predominant cultural integration and non-predominant cultural diversification, the development trend of cultural globalization is to build a restricted balance of integration and diversification. Though the establishment of a restrictive balance is subjected to unfavorable factors and difficulties, as a rosy ideal, it is the direction we should head for, for fundamentally the pursuing of a restrictive balance indicates a harmonious value conception. So, against the background of cultural globalization, our framing and constructing of a harmonious culture is of great significance. As globalization is an interaction between the world and its different parts, the realization of a restrictive balance between cultural integration and diversification echoes the national construction of a harmonious culture.
