| Accurately quantifying the world is the pursuit of human beings. But because of the limitlessness and continuity of the objective world, the limitations of linguistic signs and cognitive ability, the quantitative results are not complete. Then the quantity is fuzzy quantity. Fuzzy quantity is the expression of ambiguity in the language in quantity category. In this paper, the fuzzy quantity includes four subordinate categories: rounding quantity, assessing quantity, virtual quantity and fuzzy classifiers.Chapter 1 summarizes the main problem of the current study and areas of the main achievements, and the content of this paper. Chapter II applies the fuzzy sets theory into the studying of Chinese language. Introduce the concept 'the degree of membership' into the explanation of rounding quantity. And show the semantics of some rounding quantity with curves. Find out the cognitive basis of assessing quantity at the beginning of chapter III, then analyze the basic semantic characteristics of assessing quantity, finally establish its typical language forms. Analyze the impact of other semantic categories (such as "negative aspects") to assessing quantity. Research the virtual quantity in Chapter IV .Discuss the inherent relationship between the language forms and semantics. Discuss the fuzzy units marking the quantity of space and the ambiguous marking function of the fuzzy classifiers in last chapter.
