The Research On Zhu Xi's Musical Sources And Thoughts

Being a famous Confucian scholar in ancient China, Zhu Xu made a lot of nice comments on music. Unfortunately, they have been ignored by academic circles for a long time. Consequently, this paper tries to make a systematic study on Zhu Xi's musical souces and thoughts as follows:Firstly, the author analyzes Zhu Xi's musical sources from the viewpoint of its edition, bibliography and tetxtual criticism.Secondly, the author compiles Zhu Xi's musical deeds in annalistie style. Finally, the paper make a monographie study on Zhu Xi's musical thoughts from the viepoint of its cultural background,its sources and its characteristics.Based on the research mentioned above, the author points out that Zhu Xi's musical sources and thoughts still deserve our serious consideration nowadays.
