Being an exterior factor of the developing of literature, technical is an important matter in the field of literary studies. In modern society, the directly represents of the effects of technical are lie in the shaping consumer society and the developed mass media tech. Also consumer culture and mass media are the main background of the culture of the main land of China. In such conditions and such times, literature face to a lot of confusions, one of the confusions is that some people said literature is dying. This confusion makes it can not be neglected, so we can not overlook the literary problem in consumer culture and mass media conditions when we study literature. If we do not face to this problem, then we study literature for what?For the first time, this dissertation names those literature phenomena, which closely relate to the consumer culture and the mass media, as 'media literary events'. All these events are well known by people through the mass media, and these events are formed in the conditions of the developing consumer culture and the mass media which is also growing very fast with the every passing day. On the basis of defining the media literary events, studying on the parterres and their relations in the events, researching the core of the events that is named 'pattern', this dissertation will analyze the whole process of the running of the media literary events which are carried out in the conditions of consumer culture and supported by mass media; And further more, will find out the character of the media literary events and the inherent relations between the events with the consumer culture.On the studies of above all, this dissertation will discuss what kinds of effects and sequent are produced by the consumer culture and mass media in literature area. Media literary events, being the product of this history period, are in fact a kind of forms of consumer culture, also are a kind of 'myths' depicted by mass media. And the processes of the literary events acceptation are in fact the processes of semiotic consuming, which realize the semiotic worth of the events. In such processes, the receivers are transformed to be consuming powers. So, in the media literary events, the aesthetics of literature are deformed, the subject of literature is lost; the writers and the receiver's subjects are losing too. Accordingly, we maybe can say that literature is dying in the media literary events.But, the truth is that since literature is born, which is alive through hundreds and thousands of years are still exist. If only the needs for beauty are in existence, the creativities of the people are in existence, the language is in existence, and the literature will not die. Though 'media literary events' are the main forms of literature in this times, they are not the only kind of forms; moreover they will be a history and past. So, through the studies on media literary events can make us understand that, the influences of technical to literature are really, but those are not the point. Being a kind of arts, literature is decided by people but not by technical. Thereby, viewing the future of literature, it will not die. The real literature is in existence out of the media literary events. Technical providing a new space to literature is be foreseen; and the new model of economy tell us that probability interests are also exist in some literatures which indwell in verges and belonging to minorities. Maybe literature will encounter it new times of splendor.
