The Industrial Development Of Public Historic And Cultural Resources

This doctorial dissertation is divided into four chapters.Chapter one gives a clear definition and characteristics of cultural resources, historic and cultural resources and public historic and cultural resources. It puts forward the scientific principles of the development of cultural resources industries. And according to the status quo of Jinan, it brings forward strategies and overall ideas of the development of historic and cultural resources of Jinan city.Chapter two makes an analysis of public historic and cultural resources in Jinan, discusses the quantity, distribution and the model of classifications .At the same time , the dissertation makes a comparison and contrast with Beijing, Xi'an, Luoyang, Qufu to discuss the cultural and industry characteristic of the historic and cultural resources of Jinan. The historic and cultural resources in Jinan can be divided into eight categories according to theme, and then carries on a detailed analysis to the cultural connotation of five types including the ancient site-culture, culture of the religion buildings, famous spring culture, elite culture, modern culture of trading port of ancient site. And after a comparison and contrast with other cities, a conclusion is reached that the public historic and cultural resources in Jinan are revealed in four aspects: First, archaeology proves that Jinan is one of the several areas where the developing trains of the ancient culture are clearest; Second, Jinan possesses a unique cityscape and space characteristic combined and created by mountains, springs, lakes, rivers and cities; Third, Jinan has unique commercial culture and urban space arrangement standing side by ancient city and commercial port; Fourth, Jinan bears profound elite culture; therefore it can be summarized that the unique culture characteristic of historic and cultural resources of Jinan lies in its' popularization, closeness to the populace, and the convenience for visitation and appreciation. The industry characteristic of the historic and cultural resources of Jinan is reflected in three aspects: the predominance brought by the rationality; the rareness of resources; and the standing-out of the core resources, which is unique and easy to form culture brands.Chapter three deals with case studies on several cases of the development of historic and cultural resources in Jinan. The urban situation comedy "Spring City Families" and the newly produced Peking operas "Li Qingzhao" and "Xin Qiji" are the artistic refinements promoted by the Jinan cultural circle. After an examination from cultural and industrial perspectives, it is revealed that the before-mentioned plays are successful culturally and artistically; while examined from the industrial stratification, especially from the marketing strategy, they are a failure. The famous historical and cultural city Zhoujiayu, which was developed around the year 2000, has been targeted improperly in its cultural orientation and developing orientation. It was therefore deprived of cultural scene and characteristics during the pursuit of material utility and formed a pattern of improper development and overdevelopment. The "perfect" case of Jinan urban construction and historic and cultural resources protection and development should be the project put forward by Mr. Wu Liangyong. He has given precious suggestion on the construction and development of "Jinan famous historical and cultural city".and "the spring city featured view belt". He has suggested that "the painting of Quehua autumn scenery" should be a blueprint to establish the main cultural axis of Jinan urban construction, which means to construct "Quehua historical and cultural park" in the area of Que mountain and Hua Mountain, to conceive the Que mountain and Hua Mountain linking Qianfo Mountain in the south and facing the Yellow River in the north to form a new axis as the "double Que" of the city and to reorganize the space structure and conformation of Jinan city.Chapter four investigates developing strategy of historic and cultural resources in Jinan and its capability of urban cultural competition. It points out that every city should be directed by the view of scientific development to enrich the special cultural connotation of the city continuously and find out a way suitable for the city to develop. In order to promote the city's capability of cultural competition, it is necessary to constitute a scientific and rational strategy for its cultural development. The cultural orientation of Jinan city is located after a discussion on city culture and city image. The cultivating thought of the government on the regional orientation and the capability of cultural competition are analyzed. The conception and perception of historic and cultural resources of Jinan and the promotion of the capability of cultural competition are advanced. The detailed developing design for public historic and cultural resource industries of Jinan is as follows: the developing mode of archeology and heritage cultural tradition is to build museums in order to disseminate the history and culture of Jinan city, to educate and influence the offspring and to spread the national spirit; as for the religious culture, it is important to combine protection development and commercial development and to construct a religious culture square in the urban area, build a Buddhism cultural relic museum in the south suburbs. In the meanwhile, Buddhism and Taoism tourist sites construction should be enlarged, turning the south mountainous area into a tourist attraction with religious tourism, eco-tourism and leisure tourism combined together; The development of spring culture, first, is to enhance the cultural image of the city through the "spring water festival", second, is to construct "one hundred Chinese springs landscape garden" and "Jinan famous springs museum," in Hua Mountain scenery area to display the 100 famous springs in China in miniature and to analyze the cultural connotation of famous springs in Jinan, third, is to protect and develop historic and cultural streets and area and to bring forth the scenery of "Spring in every household and willows in every neighborhood", which is typical of the Spring city households; As for the elite culture, we must promote the academic research on elite culture and display the public characteristics of historical and cultural resources. In addition, a "Jinan Elite Museum" in the east regional extension of Daming Lake, an "elite garden" in the city circle park, and "Elite Culture Plaza" or "urban theme park" in the eastern new city area should be built; the former residences of the elites should be opened for visitation. The development of commercial culture should include two aspects: the first is to excavate the cultural connotation and commercial value of trading port culture and old brands; the second is to protect and utilize the modern architectures of Jinan and to develop their value of science and technology and cultural connotation, and to maintain the characteristics of the city.The conclusion part is a summary and a further consideration of the whole dissertation.
