Historic city of our country takes shape slowly around old district. The old district is life and economic center of city and there are very good position advantages, so it becomes the gold location where realtors fight for. Then domestic and international investors get involved in the reconstruction project in the old city one after another. Meanwhile, the old district is the location where the living conditions are worse and residents have urgent request to reconstruct . The demand and pursuit in economic benefits of realtor combined to become very strong strength in the specific historical period and it has put forward the severe challenge to the protection of the historic blocks . The contradiction between development and protection is conspicuous day by day. How to conserve history during the development becomes the contradictory focus. So protecting historic blocks becomes work with most richful humanity and challenges in the urban construction of contemporary countries all over the world .The protection of the historic blocks is still a newer subject in our country and relevant departments of our government are not very familiar with this work. So unavoidably there are some wrong understanding and methods in the protection of historic blocks. These mistakes will often bring losses that can't be remedied to the protection of the historic blocks .The historic blocks is the important component of historic cultural city of Jinan. It has recorded the developing history and course of the city of Jinan and is the important carrier of the traditional culture in the city of Jinan, which reflects the glamour and characteristic of the city of Jinan. However, some blocks and old buildings of Jinan are destroyed in the tide of the urban renewal because of the realizing deviation in recent years. Protecting the historic blocks of Jinan becomes the most important work during the urban renewal in the future.This thesis attempts to use furong street as real example and to demonstrate the protection and development of the historic blocks of Jinan under the guidance of advanced theory, This thesis-has chosen a typical and represented historic block of --Furong street to research and has put forward the concrete protecting and developing thought and scheme and try to find an effective way for the protection and development of historic blocks in modern urban evolution.The thesis is divided into five parts mainly:First part has mainly introduced the concept and current situations and development trends of the domestic and international theoretical research of the historic blocks and has point out the important meaning of the protecting and studying the historic blocks of Jinan as the important historical cultural city of China.Second part : Changes, characteristic and value of the historic blocks of Jinan.The third part : Questions and current situation of the historic blocks of Jinan about the protection.The fourth part : Principle and method about protection and renovation of historic blocks.The fifth part : Development and use of the historic blocks.
