Constructions And Practices Of The Ideas Of Culture

Tang Junyi, Mou Zongsan and Xu Fuguan are known as three key representatives of modern New Confucianism, who enjoy high reputation not only in China but also in the world academic field. At present, although scholars both in China and overseas have attached great importance to the research on the three figures and have made fruitful and striking achievements, no systematic research has been done on the three thinkers'cultural conceptions. Therefore, it is of theoretical significance to study Mr.Tang, Mr. Mou and Mr. Xu from the cultural perspective. The topic of this article is selected on the base of the three men's cultural metaphysical foundation, observing the main contents of their cultural thoughts holistically. This study is an attempt to make a horizontal comparison of their thoughts, trying to manifest their cultural ideas in an all-round way. At the same time, Tang Junyi, Mou Zongsan and Xu Fuguan are honored as the persons who carry forward the traditional Chinese culture. Their modern interpretation of traditional culture, especially Confucian thoughts, and explanations on the comparison of Chinese and Western cultures play an enlightening role in the formation of Chinese culture. What is more important is that this study may provide valuable ideological resources for the present construction of socialist culture. In conclusion, the topic of this article has the vital practical significance.
