A Systematic Study Of Frame Semantic In The Domain Of Transaction Of Chinese

In the light of the Frame Semantics and other theories as well as the FrameNet, the paper focuses on the Domain of Transaction to explore the use of the frame-semantic analysis approach in the construction of Chinese FrameNet. The paper makes a systematic investigation of the lexical units in the Domain of Transaction and builds the Lexicon; it builds the Frame Database based on the different types of lexical units and their frame elements; it studies the core elements and the non-core elements in the domain and their syntactic realizations, which can be used as the theoretical base for the semantic annotation and the construction of the Annotated Example Sentences database.The paper consists of 7 chapters.Chapter One mainly discusses semantic frames, frame-semantic and their relations. Semantic frames are schematic representations of scenes and meanings. Semantic frames are made up of lexical units and frame elements and the like. Frame- semantic is represented through semantic frames, including relation meaning and construction meaning, etc.Chapter Two studies frames in the Domain of Transaction of Chinese and their hierarchy system. The paper offers some principles and methods for the frames, and constructs a series of basic frames. Semantic frames are a multi-layer system, consisting of frames in the first layer of domain (the first-layer frame), in the second layer of sub-domain (the second-layer frame), in the third layer (the third-layer frame) and the base layer (the base-layer frame). An organic network forms up with frames interactive in different layers and those in the same layer.Chapter Three discusses the lexical units and verbs of transaction. The properties and the scope of the verbs and their semantic features, semantic types and the like are much more treated.Chapter Four and Chapter Five study the core elements as well as the non-core elements and their syntactic realizations. Markers of representing the frame elements are to be found to a great extent.Chapter Six describes and analyzes the frame-semantic constructions in the Domain of Transaction. The frame-semantic constructions can be classified into three types: the basic construction, the lengthened construction and the compound construction. The basic construction is made up of one lexical unit and its corresponding core frame elements; the lengthened construction is the construction with an extra of the non-core frame elements based upon the basic construction; the compound construction consists of frame-semantic constructions with two or more basic constructions and lengthened constructions. Two semantic patterns should be treated separately, i.e. the formulas and the syntactic patterns.Chapter Seven deals with the omission, anaphora, conflation,splitting, etc. of the frame elements and puts forward the specific ways for the semantic annotation of the sentences.
