In human speech's evolution process,evolution of vowel system and it's steady forming,is the extraordinary key link.After stable forming of vowel system, Vowels and consonants combine to form speech. Evolution of vowel system show remarkable universal tendencies and Stability at the level of populations. The research on vowel system evolution and its computation is both part of a larger research effort into understanding the nature of intelligence, and the important issue in mathematical linguistics and artificial societies research areas. There is almost no literature to our knowledge in our country,whereas the research has become a hotspot in abroad.At present,there is no effective way to directly observe the evolution of vowel system and it's steady forming,so,research methods that can be taken is very limited.The weakness of existing human vowel system evolutionary computation model is analyzed.Traditional methods attempt to construct the model of evolution of vowel system and it's steady forming through optimization means,apparently, these methods can only be a brief description of a single individual behavior on a single point in time.Or, describing evolution of vowel system in a single communication plane,clearly,such method is inconsistent with the integration of language characteristics of both inheritance and communication. The root causes of these defects are:There are are essential differences between natural systems and human language system as social system.Among these essential differences,the most crucial point is active and differentiated person's participation.The main work and major contributions of this research are as follows:(1) Based on the work of predecessors, we further clarified that language evolution is a typical process of cultural evolution, not biological evolution. The mechanism of cultural evolution and biological evolution is different, although there are many similarities between them. but Therefore, "memes"- another genetic factor of human social and cultural evolution rather than "gene"- genetic factor of biological evolution is used in this thesis. (2) We propose that meme transmission in vowel system is both vertical inheritance and horizontal communication.That is to say,meme transmission in vowel system is the complex self-organizing process of integration of vertical and horizontal.(3) The meme theory, cultural evolution, complex self-organizing systems and social computing as well as computer simulation modeling method are Expounded.The digital expression of physical attributes of the vowel system is achieved.The formants,the physical properties of the vowel system independent of the specific language are extracted.The continuous interpolation function from the physical attributes of the vowel system (coding intongue posion and lip rounded degree of vowel) to the physical properties of the vowel system (vowel formants) is constructed.Thus,the above work effectively link the physical properties of the vowel system and it's physiological properties.(4) The multi-agents complex social computing model of the vowel system evolution blending vertical structure (inheritance) and horizontal structure (communication) is brought forward and implemented based on the work of Boer,etc.The core idea of this model using the bottom-up modeling approach is not the same with the traditional methods,such as system dynamics, optimal control theory and so on. This bottom-up model does not consider the central control,but emphasizes to simulate the macro-level state of population in the vowel system through individual behavior.Each agent replicates and transmits the vowel meme in accordance with their own behavior patterns.The openness of the vowel system evolution and external environment interference are taken into account.Thus,the above work makes the model is more in line with the fact that the evolution of language system.Language is a complex self-organizing system, so the relationship between micro-level behavior of the individual and macro-state of population level is non-linear, even chaotic in this system.Thus,this model may help us to understand the non-linear relationship between the microscopic behavior and macroscopic state of population level in evolution of language system. Simulation results show that: This model emerges the macro-state equivalent to distribution of real vowel systems, and illustrates universal tendencies of human vowel system.
