The Evolution Of Loanwords Of China’s Modern Period From The Perspective Of Intercultural Communication

The paper considers the modern period’s Chinese loanwords as research object and bases on the way of division of the cultural transmission process given by cultural anthropologist R. Linton. According to his analysis, the modern Chinese loanwords experience the process of selection and localization. By studying on this process can helps us tell the interact relationship of the inheritance of Han cultural psychology and the transmission of the modern Chinese loanwords from the perspective of cultural transmission. The paper that base on the data analysis studies on the loanwords in the modern period diachronically and synchronically. The whole paper is made by the following four chapters which can be described into three parts:The introduction is the first part, which takes the definition of the modern period’s loanwords as the breakthrough and depicts its meaning at the very beginning by making clear that in this paper what we are studying on is the loanwords which is discriminated by the time in history, and then analyses the academic controversy about the loanwords. In the last, this part reviews the characteristics of the modern Chinese loanwords and describes the research significance and the status quo of this paper.The second part includes chapters ⅠⅡⅢ, which studies on the particular process of cultural diffusion usually begins by the means of cultural contact, and then goes by the process of selection to decide which one should be adopted and on the same time deny those useless part directly, the ones being kept turn out to absorb the features of the local cultural and bring the modern Chinese loanwords into background.The last chapter is the final part of the whole paper. It first summarizes the culture psychology of Han observed from the perspective of cultural transmission which run through the transmission of modern Chinese loanwords. Pointing out that the Han culture psychology contains several different parts and analyzing the relationship between the Han culture psychology and the transmission of loanwords in modern Chinese on the whole to show the significant effects of the transmission of modern Chinese loanwords, including promoting the opening of the Chinese cultural psychology and the opening of the Chinese psychology inspires the introduction of modern Chinese loanwords to make it transfers from passive to active on the contrary.
