Development Of The Ethical Dimension

The problem of development is closely associated with the problem of modernity. To a great degree, the development understood by people is actually the process of expanding wealth in a modern pattern. However, this pattern of development over emphasizes the physical increase of GDP, and the so-called "developmentalism" is its extreme. As a result, this "developmentalism" causes the inequality in economic, social and cultural development. It also brings damage to the ecological environment. What is more, there appears empty and no-reason inclination in the field of ideology. The emergence of development ethics is the result of this review on developmentalism.. The development ethics concerns the development of human's implication, rights and dignity. Marx has provided the analysis approach to the study on development ethics. He criticized the capital logics. He defined development as an all-round essential development on human in the sense of human liberation. He believed that the development of human society was not only the process of history evolution, but also the process of the realization of human values. Development involves politics, economy, society, culture and so on:development should be all round with social justice as its basis. Fairness and the pursuit for long term well-off go hand in hand; development should be sustainable. It must pay close attention to the environment. It should take the common while different responsibility according to its own ability; development should be coordinative. The effective communication between implement reason and value reason should be achieved. The relation between material civilization and advanced cultural ethics should be dealt with carefully. The harmonious development of economy and culture should be promoted. Fairness, responsibility and harmony are the focus of development ethics. The scientific development conception in today's China just reflects the ethic care of development, but the interactive smriti and transformation also display a complicated situation. We should keep the way of development with Chinese characteristics in which modernity and tradition are compatible. A fine ethic environment, which can make the regulatory design embody moral principle, is essential to both social transformation and institutional innovation. But at the same time, the values of development must be realized by organizational form, operative procedure and the arrangement of basic rights and obligations.
