The traditional growth pattern is the one that focus on material-central growth, which leads to the psychological crisis and ecological crisis since it simply regards growth as development and takes no slight notice to ethics. Development ethics, being as a new field and perspective of methodology, has provided a new theoretical pattern for social development and practice. It looks at issues of development in the perspective of border dimensionality of value, explores the ethical basis and ethical attributes of development, and regulates, modulates, assesses and corrects the every step of whole by using fundamental principles of ethics.The basic theory problems of development ethics include two aspects: one is ethical basis for the development, namely, the special function of ethics for development practice, which is the answer for"how development ethics is possible", the other is the ethical attributes of development, that is, the basic principle that should be followed, which embodied by sub-principles relating to the principle of people oriented, the principle of unity, the fair principle and the principle of sustainability.Harmonious development of society is the dream of human being and the ultimate goal of value for development ethics as well. Improving the research of development ethics has important significance for better understanding the nature of harmonious society and creating the path of harmonious development.
