The Taxation System And The TianJia Poetry In Tang Dynasty

This thesis is based on the research of TianJia poetry(田家诗)—one special kind of Tang poetry. The author takes the Taxation System as the breakthrough point, mainly concerns on the content of relevant Taxation System and the feeling of poets, which was reflected in the poetry. There are six chapters in the text. The first chapter is about the connotation and the research category, which was based on "Combing" and summarizing the TianJia poetry and their reflection about the Taxation System by time stages, in order to inspect the changing track.The second chapter and the third one,fourth one are the investigation basically into three process segments of the TianJia poetry, were named respectively—The Safety life of Villagers(田家安)\The Hard life of Villagers(田家苦)and The Disaster of Villagers(田家劫)as topics.The second chapter discusses the TianJia poetry in the Early Tang and High Tang when the common characteristics of image System is The Safety life of Villagers(田家安). The theme of poetry in this period was implicative and mixed. Many poets expressed their own knowledge and experience in country when they were chanting the feeling about the hermit or visit content in life. Most of the works reflected the background of the age indirectly. So the reader need to find the writer's feeling indirectly from this kind of poetry about the details of agricultural production, daily life to rent the commonplace modulation of villagers in this era.The third chapter focuses on the TianJia poetry of the Middle Tang when the dynasty government started to implement the Two—tax System. The main tendency of poetry was reflecting the suffering of Villagers and very little other happy things. The poetry developed into mature with more clear writing purpose in different with TianYuan poetry(田园诗).The poetry which take pity on famers began to appear in a big quantity and formed the first peak in the poetry history. TianJia poetry had involved the rationality and Tax burden of service or Taxation's way. The position of poet was more distinctive than the Beginning Tang and the High Tang. The poets performed the hard life of Villagers about the production or living life, conveying the peculiar in Tang dynasty and evaluation on System. The writing art of Poetry had been changing with that.The fourth chapter takes the "disaster"of Villagers in Late Tang as a main topic. Although the Taxation System in this era still was Two—Tax mainly, it had become more and more optional and chaos because of the warlords and official corruption. The poets began to attack the taxation system more intense than Middle Tang in their poetry. In the time background with a weak state and heavy taxes, the rural rich ones got more attention than before,who were caused by the Two—tax System. The writing art was a component with both painful and happy.The fifth chapter research projects for transverse to the implementation of the system performance and the poetry to explain exceptions, as supplementary for the earlier chapters, such as war, famine and perverted disorderly levy, etc.The sixth chapter discusses the distortion and faithfulness about the reflection of Taxation System in the TianJia poetry, inducting the reasons, and carries out the author's own opinion about how to evaluate the relationship between the TianJia poetry and the System of taxation.The last part is a summary of the whole thesis including the main idea of every chapter.
