By the development of management practice, inner connection between philosophy and management and inseparable relationship between theory and practice create management philosophy–"management philosophy is management of philosophy". Management, this concept, reveals the vertical, horizontal, dialectical and equitable relationships between philosophy and management. It also summarizes characters of unity between metaphysics and. The construction of ideological system of management philosophy is the academic basis for studying on the thoughts of management philosophy of Lao-tzu.Study on the thoughts of management philosophy of Lao-tzu is the frontier of modern management. This study uses the theoretical achievement of modern management and philosophy for reference, deeply explores and systemizes philosophical connotation and content of management thinking of Lao-tzu, summarizes and abstracts the organic link between philosophy and management, gives prominence to key area and expresses characteristic systemization.Management philosophy of Lao-tzu and Chinese management philosophy can be traced to the same origin. Lao-tzu completely inherits"Guan Xiang"mode carried by . As the basis of ideological system of Lao-tzu, the thought of"Guang Xiang"is consist of cognition of"Guan Xiang", behavior of"Fa Xiang"and expression of"Li Xiang". By means of"Guan Xiang", Lao-tzu exerts"Dao"as a whole. Dao brings forth everything of the world; Dao is the fundamental to everything of the world; Dao is the metaphysical basis of"Wu Wei". All of these are the basic concepts of Lao-tzu.Based on Lao-Tzu's basic concept ,the thoughts of"Wu Wei"and"Guan Xiang", focus on theoretical frontiers and hot-debated topic in reality of modern management, combining with understanding of both management philosophy and Chinese management philosophy, this article concludes three most important and inseparable issues, which are view of management, view of humanity and view of organization. The three issues express the nature of management, the nature of human being and the nature of organization individually, meanwhile, also discuss the principle of management, nature and human and structure of organization. All these three issues are core problems of management since ancient times, and also are highly focused by the contemporary management philosophy. These three issues have abundant intellectual resources in Lao-tzu's thoughts. Based on Lao-tzu's view of humanity and view of organization, combining modern management, this article described the theory of personal management and organizational management that are the key practices of Lao-tzu's management philosophy. Respecting Laz-tzu and Chinese tradition in which"Xiu Sheng"is fundamental and a prior consideration, this article give priority to personal management over organizational management."personal-management theory"elaborates the unique"Xu Xin","She Sheng"management philosophy of Lao-tzu, based by teaching the ruler inward self-mind management and inward self-body management, and giving extended application of that point. While, the organization-management theory interprets Tao-tzu's unique understanding of organizational structure and organizational goals on dimensions of live, and detailed analyzes"Wang Tian Xia"—management of the whole world, management of large country, and management of small country.The profound management philosophy of Tao-tzu shows important enlightenment toward modern management theory and practice.
