Peter M. Senge, who is called the father of “learning organization” theory, is known as one of the most influential management master on the contemporary management science. In 1990, he published The Fifth Discipline- The Art & Practice of the Learning Organization. The book has been translated into more languages around the world. It not only led to rapid development of American economy in recent 10 years, but also caused a worldwide wave of creating learning organization management. As a theoretical foundation of "learning organization", The Fifth Discipline expounded five techniques on creating learning organization skills, including abundant management theories and profound ethical thought, which is seen as a model of management ethics research.There are plentiful theoretical basis and ethical value of the emergence of Peter M. Senge’s management ethics thought. Firstly, with management mode of operation and thinking and based on the human nature of “learning being”, this thesis analyzes the refined thought of “self beyond” in order to indicate that only lifelong learning can realize self-surpassing, which is also the creativity of this paper. Secondly, starting from management philosophy perspective of "doing nothing ", the paper analyzes the formation of managers’ moral accomplishment so as to reveal that the leaders’ ethical actions are restricted to their mental mode. Thirdly, aiming at uncovering the management ethical goal of teamwork spirit, the thesis discusses the ethical relationship between individual and team from the aspect of "team learning" and "common vision". Finally, from the oriental wisdom of “heaven-man unity”, the paper illustrates the philosophical thought of “part and entirety” by analyzing the management ethical mode of “systematic thinking”. All in all, the article interprets Peter M. Senge’s management ethics thought in details from four aspects, so as to reveal that Peter M. Senge’s management ethics thought is derived from the active interplay between social management and moral ethics by the moral subject of management. The last part of the article is mainly to evaluate Peter M. Senge’s management ethics thought. After absorbing the reasonable place of Senge management ethics thought beneficially, the paper also analyzes the limitation of Senge management ethics thought, as well as the significance of the establishment of the study-oriented society, which intends to make progress on the research of the theory of social management and social management activities.
