Research On Ili Dialect Of Uyghur

The project researched linguistic characteristics of Ili dialect of Modern Uyghur lan-guage. This thesis includes the preface, phonetics, lexicology, grammar study, dialect texts, and vocabulary and summary.Ili dialect's voices and standard Uyghur language voices are basically the same, but there are variations in Ili dialect for some voices. Ili dialect's vowels have labial harmony and palatal harmony rules same with the standard language, but Ili dialect's vowel harmony rules are stronger than the standard language harmony rules. Ili dialect vowels have vowel change phenomenon in pronunciation, like alternations, devoicing, additions and droppings. The inci-dences of these phenomena are a little more than the standard language and there are some features. Ili dialect's consonants also have consonant harmony rules same with the standards language. This is mainly manifested in the voiceless and voiced harmony rules. Ili dialect has consonant changes, including alternations, additions, droppings, weakened, assimilation and transposition. There are vocabularies from Ancient and Middle age Uyghur in Ili dialect more complete than the other dialects of Uyghur.In the vocabulary research component of the field survey through language, nearly 1000 words in Ili dialect were classified and analyzed. These vocabularies that are studied in the dialect show us how rich the dialect is.Textual part includes the texts which were collected from different towns in the dialect areas. There are 50 first hand text data which were told by 21 language partners, and the texts were recorded in the IPA transcription. The texts basically cover voice, vocabulary and grammar features of the area of the dialect. In these texts there are genres like anecdotes, folk songs, folk tales, jokes and other genres. And as for the content they are related to the local ethnic customs, history, and culture and so on. They have vivid and lively dialect features. Dialect words are given in the page notes at bottom.Dialect vocabulary section includes the collection of nearly 1400 words in Ili dialect and they are explained and exemplified.In short, Ili dialect has a long history of development and evolvement process. It has been under the impact of external languages. Ili dialect and other Uygur dialects have fre-quently been in interaction. It provided the main basis for the formation of standard Modern Uyghur language. It has certain voice features, rich vocabulary resources, few grammatical differences and a strong dialect culture. It has academic value, data value and practical value to research on Ili dialect for Uyghur language, and it develops and enriches the standard of the language.
