From the point of view of self-evaluation,the consciousness of self-awareness and its significance in ideological and political education are explored and studied in this thesis,which develops as follows.This thesis starts with an introduction which openly raises the questions concerned in the whole paper with the significance of this thesis pointed out. In this section,self-awareness is traced back and studied historically. The international and domestic studies over the related matters of self-awareness are evaluated and developed. And the theories and approaches applied in this thesis end this section.Chapter One mainly concerns itself with the essence of consciousness of self-awareness and its mechanism, which is also the basic point of this thesis. At the beginning,the intrinsic mechanism for the progressing of self-awareness is analyzed. Through the explanation of the essence of awareness,self-awareness and the consciousness of self-awareness,a clear understanding of their relationship and their evolution process is obtained. Their evolution process is a process deepening human beings' understanding to themselves. As the perceiving of subject conducted to self-awareness, introspection is intrinsic to self-awareness,always accompanies the behaviors of the subject , and makes self-awareness a conscious awareness.Consciousness of self-awareness is achieved through the activities of introspection,which is a reality form emerged in the different stages of consciousness of self-awareness.What is followed is the analysis to the roles played by evaluation activities in the mechanism of consciousness of self-awareness,which begins from the two primary aspects constituting the recognition activities of the human beings,that is, cognition activities and evaluation activities. From the different angles of the subject,evaluation activities are divided into evaluation activities of individual subject and that of social subject. Self-evaluation activity is a way or means of evaluation activities of individual subject,whereas evaluation activities of social subject take the evaluation activities of the public and that of the authority as their manifestation. Lastly , a deep analysis is conducted to the roles played by self-evaluation activities and social evaluation activities respectively in consciousness of self-awareness.The second chapter offers the roles that consciousness of self-awareness plays in the development of human beings.Firstly,the question of how consciousness of self-awareness arouse the reflection on the value of life is discussed from the three aspects of the essence of value of life,consciousness and blindness of self-affirmation in the value of life, and conscious treatment to the pain and adversity happened in one`s lifetime.Secondly,it is clearly claimed that it is the human being that is the creator of life. The life of an individual develops in the continuous process of self-design, self-selection and self-shaping. In the process of self-shaping,the subject is bound to be susceptible to various internal and external factors. The two trends of fatalism and voluntarism should be avoided in the conscious process of self-shaping. Historical materialism should be armed to treat conscious self-shaping.Based on the above analysis,classification and summarization of the views of self-development held by the three representative schools are accomplished. It is claimed that it is self-development that is the priority of life. It is not only the process for an individual approaching to be positive and real,but also the process of socialization. Consciousness of self-awareness plays important roles in the three different stages of self-development. It is also put forward in this thesis that the esthetic pursuit of the subject to their life is inevitable. The full application of consciousness of self-awareness promotes the construction of richer intrinsic world and reaching the peak of realm of life,that is,aesthetic realm. Chapter Three discusses the strength of the guide to the consciousness of self-awareness during the ideological and political education. This chapter firstly gives explanation to ideological and political education and its mechanism,and points out that the problem that ideological and political education needs to solve is how to motivate the self-awareness consciousness of the educatee. There is the close relationship between self-awareness consciousness and ideological and political education. Secondly, this chapter talks about the"value clarification"and its theory. It points out that the biggest enlightenment from"value clarification"is to emphasize the free or conscious choose of the educatee,play the role of the self-awareness mechanism of the educatee,motivate the educatee to make self-education,so as to arouse the educatee's consciousness of self-evaluation,and then to urge the educatee to make self-criticism and self-analysis. At last,this chapter points out that freedom is people's cognition to the objective laws and transformation of the objective world. The process of people's self-awareness contains freedom. People's development is the dialectical unity of free and overall development. Ideological and political education has great significance to the free and overall development. By its very nature , ideological and political education puts people's free and overall development as the ultimate goal.
